G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) Your League Division Series (serieses?) begin at 4:07 PM EDT today with the White Sox visiting the Astros. The Rays will host the Red Sox in prime time, plenty of good seats chronically available.Tomorrow the NL gets underway as the AL continues, giving us that guaranteed One Crazy Day of four playoff games, topped off late by the Giants and Dodgers — which is gonna be lit! (Also Atlanta bores the nation by visiting Milwaukee.) Edited October 7, 2021 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Astros fans must be sick of always getting the opening [read: loser] time slot.Six times in the playoffs in the last seven seasons; twice in the WS, once a winner. But consistently relegated to the mid-week, 3PM (local) time slot while the coastal cities get all the prime time glory. If they were in the NFL the league would make them play in London.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 I know TV executives and MLB executives don't think this way, but it would make sense if the game with two teams who play in the Eastern Time Zone was the early game and the game with two teams who play in the Central Time Zone was the night game. This would make it easier for the younger fans, and a good share of older fans, of these teams to watch the entire game.

It's the Division Series (dumb name), not the LCS.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Got some Lance v. Lance action in the early ALDS game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Sounds like Cinemax will have cover that one.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Lance wins! Also, Lance loses.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 TBR's Randy Arozarena picking up where he left off in last year's post-season.Tonight he has a long HR plus just now a straight steal of home.5-0 Rays after 7
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Yeah that was cool. Boston got nothing tonight
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 That's the first one that fell uncaught, but OF'ers have lost four or five fly balls tonight plus there's already been a HR off one of the catwalk 'rings,The stadium suxx

I don't see the issue.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Oh I know why it's the case. I'd just be sick of it if I were them, knowing that the networks automatically assigns you the least desirable time slots every single yearunless you happen to be matched up against the Yanx or Sox at which point you become the party of the other part. The Braves get it too. Francesa used to argue that the three worst pro sports cities in the country were Atlanta, Miami, and Houston, and he was probably right about that (he had to be occasionally right about something!)Astros/ChiSox - 2:00 today MLBNBraves & Brewers - 4:30 TBS
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 I shouldn't objectify but is the woman in the front row behind home in Milwaukee the same one that we discussed at another time?

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 The Rays load the bases with a bunch of seeing-eye singles and then Jordan Luplow hits a grand slam. Up 5-2 in the first inning. I guess this won't be a pitching duel.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Red Sox hit 4 home runs and now lead 8-5 in the 5th. Definitely not a pitching duel.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Braves lost. I approve. More of the same please.

stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Posey and Crawford are the last remaining members of the 2016 team that…well I don't think I can say at this time…Same year as Kris Bryant's World Championship run though. So ghosts of Bochy's last postseason ride helping the Giants on the offensive side.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Jack Webb could put them all behind bars.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 Meanwhile, Braves maintain a 3-0 lead in their Game Two at Stiller (Still Miller) Park as they and those who Brew head for the eighth.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I have the late game on but I really don't care who wins this series, now that I'm watching. I guess I hate the Dodgers more but
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I'm pulling for the Brews & Giants, and, to a lesser extent, ChiSox & Rays. But not all that passionately in any of those cases. My one rooting interesting this year's post-season ended with the very first game played (AL WC).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I find it hard to get behind the Brews for anything. I'm not sure why.I dislike Bud Selig, but don't revile him more than most or anything. I kind of hate them leaving the AL just to show it can be done.Kinda find everything about the Ryan Braun thing gross. Actually, I found Ryan Braun kinda gross before there was a Ryan Braun thing, so maybe it's that.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Perversely, I think a World Series between the Brewers and Astros with the teams representing the wrong leagues would be kind of fun.
