Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 The (far) lesser counterpart to Tommy Davis 1967 was Tommie Reynolds 1967.

He just didn't.My memory of Cuddyer is of killing rallies in the 2015 postseason, but it doesn't actually look like he had all that many at bats (especially few in the World Series) so I guess that memory is inflated.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Holy shit, Chris Carter! What a nondescript Met with a nondescript name, but I was trying to recall Rod Barajas' name and Chris Carter just jumped in there.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 I got a rule-fiver in my head. A lefthanded corner outfielder/first baseman/pinch hitter we stole (I think) from the Phillies, possibly for the 2011 season. He had a dozen homers and a strong year but disappeared. He might have played a few dozen games in a second Mets season, though.Anybody know who I'm thinking of? I think his name invoked a bird or something, like "Hawkins."
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2021 Author Posted June 16, 2021 I'm not sure who you're thinking of - the only Rule 5 guy I can think of around that time was Brad Emaus, but I don't think he made it to the end of April.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Eric Valent!Actually from 2004, so not close, and he lasted into the 2005 season before disappearing, thus disqualifying himself.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2021 Author Posted June 16, 2021 Pridie, another guy who I would have figured for maybe 150-200 ABs.1962 141 - Felix Mantilla1962 135 - Richie Ashburn1962 118 - Eliosha Cohen1963 129 - Duke Snider1964 124 - George Altman1966 133 - Eddie Bressoud1967 154 - Tommy Davis1967 101 - Tommie Reynolds1971 104 - Bob Aspromonte1979 136 - Richie Hebner1992 142 - Dick Schofield1992 1172000 144 - Derek Bell2001 120 - Desi Relaford2002 1142003 1252005 100 - Miguel Cairo2009 126 - Jeremy Reed2009 100 - Gary Sheffield2010 100 - "Holy Shit" Chris Carter2011 126 - Willie Harris2011 101 - Jason Pridie2012 132 - Andres Torres2013 117 - Marlon Byrd2013 101 - John Buck2015 117 - Michael Cuddyer2016 130 - Alejandro de Aza2016 100 - James LoneyBrett Butler: 90 games in 1995 before being dealt to LA.WWSB: 90 games in 1992 before retirement.Rey Sanchez: 56 games in 2003.Richard Hidalgo: 86 games in 2004.Rod Barajas: 74 games in 2010.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Yeah, Jason Pridie was a star of the Wifey Watch Thread back in his day. There's a lefty pinch-hitter called up in 2003 named Matt whose last name I'm failing to grab. He sticks out because Valentine complained openly about not having a veteran pinch-hitter. It was this Matt guy or, by the end of the season, Mike Glavine.Did Matt Whoever get into 100 games?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Watson ... not even remotely close. Not a whole lot more than Glavine, even.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2021 Author Posted June 16, 2021 The two remaining guys are both middle infielder types.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 John Valentin, I think, may have gotten into 100 games thanks in part to his Boston buddy Mo Vaughn not always being able to answer the bell.
