They really should not have let them play games in Florida.

I just realized that they haven't played any official games in Miami yet; the Marlins games played so far have been in Philadelphia. I guess I should have said that they also shouldn't have let the Marlins or Rays hold their summer camps in Florida.

Let's face it, they never should have admitted any teams into the league from Florida. It just brings too many Floridians into the mix and you never want that.

This whole experiment was tenuous at best. I didn't think it would happen so quickly, but this situation seemed inevitable.

I really hope MLB has the balls to cut bait once it becomes obvious that playing this season is going to be even MORE of a clusterfuck. But I have a feeling they will continue to wring every game out of this no matter how much of an embarrassing struggle it becomes.

The NFL is watching and hopefully taking notes.

And now the Yanx game in Philly is off tonight.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Mets season ends after this series in Boston. Maybe even before that. The dominoes are starting to fall.

Good things if the season got cancelled:

-Another year of Cano's contract is now behind us

-The Rick Porcello era is over

-The Pete Alonso second year regression is only "rumored"

-Edwin Diaz doesn't really suck again

-Jed Lowrie. There's sadly nothing positive I can say about Jed Lowrie.

I didn't think they'd finish the season, but I didn't think it'd all come apart so fast.

Full season of rest!

Yeah, I was thinking we'd get, like, a week in before all this.

I gave it three weeks, tops. What I saw during an exhibition game was, I thought, a horror show. Plus, from what I've been reading, I'm skeptical that the players are strictly social distancing in the lockers and off the fields. They cant help themselves. The players are young and in top health. They've been superstars their whole lives, with their .750 high school batting averages and being bigger than their peers since grade school. They probably think they're Superman.

Did youse see the way the Mets mobbed each other after Cespedes's HR?

How has this changed from before covid?

I'm reading rumors the Mets might get quarantined because the Marlins played the Braves last week.

Sports where travel is required just doesn't make any damn sense during a pandemic. The MLS still had two teams drop out of their tournament and it all took place in a hub city.

All credit to the NWSL! First American sport back and they did a full tournament with no positive tests. The women nailed it.

NBA should be able to pull it off - except of course when people are cleared to leave the bubble for a funeral and they go to a strip club. oops.
