While waiting out the Dinos-Lions Opening Day rain delay, I'm watching KBO highlights right now, trying to pick a yagu squadron to root for-- I'm currently ping-ponging between the NC Dinos (two dancing dinosaurs), SK Wyverns (it's a DRAGON!)-- and let me tell you: bat-flip fans, you are in for a treat. (Old-Timey-Minded Folk /Fun Police... you may want to go back to Mets Classic and/or binging "Ozark.")

*Yes, Chris Flexen is a Doosan Bear, but, personally, I can't be front-running.

The Kiwoom (erstwhile Nexen) Heroes, based in Seoul, seem to be another prime contender for my affections. They're the only team not owned by a large multinational corporation... but https://twitter.com/MyKBO/status/1255992517654274048/photo/3their primary stockholder is in jail for fraud.

(Also, they play in a dome that looks like an ashtray you bought at the MoMA Store, and have a wicked-good 3-4-5 in Junghoo Lee, Byungho Park, and Haseong Kim.)

Worst case? You could just go with https://twitter.com/AlexFast8/status/1255592510036103171this pick-your-team randomizer GIF.

I got the LG Twins. (Affectionately knows as the appliances.)

I was born to root for the KIA Tigers. Their logo seems like it hasn't been improved upon since 1975, and frankly, neither have I.

I don't think I can handle that emotional investment, as much as I want baseball. I'll try to watch when the times work out but I think i'll just enjoy the games and competition without picking in advance. perhaps someone will woo me.

Doosanbags are the worst!

Seriously, though, I like the idea of picking one as a forum.

Among the American KBO-gnoscenti, the LG Twins appear to be the consensus most Metly: second-place in their own town/stadium to the reigning champion/current league power Doosan Bears in Seoul; last championship in 1994, but oh-so-close a few times; mostly disappointing... but with a rabid fanbase that travels well. They're also loaded with arms, apparently, including Americans Casey Kelley and Trevor Wilson.

I think I like the idea of going alternate-universe with this, and picking a team that ain't nearly so neat a Korean correlate for our guys.

I didn't even know that when I "chose" them.

I always seem to root for the oh-so-close teams.

Fboy and I went with the KT Wiz. They're mascots are the most fucktarded and that was why we picked them.

I rooted for an opposite-field single that drove in two runs and a sharp double play in the same half-inning this morning, so I guess my team is well-played baseball.

Hard to discern who's the “lousy scab” in a matchup between Doosan Bears and LG Twins.

damnit, how can i root for the Wiz if they're not in the opening round of game airings?

what are you trying to hide, espn!

What's nice is my cable provider (YouTube TV) now gave me the option to record all KBO games. So they should start piling up on my DVR at least.

I tried but I quickly lost interest in trying to watch KBO baseball on ESPN2.

Even on DVR so I didn't have to endure commercials, I found it tedious. It's not

KBO's fault, I'd probably feel the same trying to watch a DVR of Mariners at D'backs.
