I need that to read "Trump is no longer president" otherwise who knows, it could be lose-lose. But it's obviously the trump option. He's so actively destroying america and setting us on disastrous courses that if we could put the brakes on sooner there's so much harm that will be avoided.

Of course, if that option really means a 4 pause where things are still terrible with like Mike Bloomberg and then we get a more competently evil fascist in 4 years leading to further decline, it might be nice just to have the title and go out with a bang.

I would absolutely relegate the Mets to AAA for eternity if it would mean we'd save our country and give my kids a future that they could be proud of.

It's just baseball.

I can go another year without a World Series win. I'm pretty good at it after

fifty years or so...

No hesitation on this one.

A tougher question would be Trump loses the 2020 election but the Wilpons stay in power forever.

Even then you have to take Trump losing, but that's a tough one to swallow.

This can be made to happen. Sell the Mets to Donald Trump on the condition that he leave office.

He'd overextend himself bringing in a bunch of marquee free agents and gilding bathroom fixtures at the ballpark and resell the team (or his estate will) at a 30% loss six years later.

Just great. It's 14-1 against Trump but I'm the only one here who gets viciously insulted from here to high heaven and China for disagreeing with Betsy DeVos's policies.

It's probably forensically possible to figure out who the lone voter is thus far.

Every breath, word and fart here is buried somewhere under the hood.

It'd be silly to go down that rabbit hole, everyone is entitled to their vote

and anonymity imho.

And if BOTH happen what you'd like to see is a unanimous team decision NOT to attend any subsequent White House invite.

Not holding my breath on that one.

Any post-World Series visit to the White House would get framed by a recently defeated President Trump as a statement that "See! The World Series champs — and, by extension, the people of America — overwhemingly reject the results of the rigged election and demand I stay in office! It's not me saying that!"

World Series champions typically don't visit the White House until the following spring, no? The Nationals are exception but that may be due to the fact the White House is in their home town.

Yabbut, this president does those sorts of things differently. And has a wide-open schedule with which to do it.

So, who are the three late votes for the Mets?

I hadn't thought about the sports allegiance vs pro/con Trump before but...after seeing this, now that I think about it; most of my friends that are Yankee fans love Trump...and most of my friends that are either Mets or Red Sox fans, are smarter than that...

for the Yank fans, I would imagine that getting that 28th ring to flaunt in everyone's face would be far more important than having Trump leave office...
