Oh but we do. We could focus on what makes the community unique and popular with literally dozens of people:

-Wifey Watch

-Typewriter Chewing Gum

-Tabloid Derby Contests

-Historical Rankings

-World Championship of Classic Rock

-Schaefer PoTG/PoTW

Like I said, I'm willing to do the work (who doesn't need another thing on their plate right?) of editing/posting the podcast were people to want to do it.

"I cracked open this cinnamon stout for Thor's start, it really brings the heat"

Today's...well, when I'm recording, dating the pod heh, is Koosman's number retirement day. So *crack*, because I don't think

anyone brought Rheingold, the dry beer, back. Here is a nice toast of a Schaefer instead!

Oddly, Mets things are one of the few areas of interest I have that I DON'T pursue into podcasts. I've toe-dipped into Effectively Wild.

Wifey Watch-- as presently constructed-- would be, like, a TERRIBLE thing to put out on blast for outside consumption.

Hell, it straddles the appropriateness line of how relatives of a noted person should be treated on an obscure message board! ;)

There could be a whole series that follows up on each of the women in that http://archives.thecranepool.net/6400/f2_t6464.shtmlbridesmaids photo from several years back.

Anybody who wants to run with one of these (preferably somebody who already has claim to these particular properties), we're working on a journal of community-specific content and each of those deserve to be featured sections for posts and podcasts. KTEs too.

Our business plan is solid. Architecture is going up. But somebody get Zvon back here. We need his graphic design skillset.

I just got how funny that was.

I'm with Edge and also working on this; except when I'm busy 'snarly-ly defecating'

on posters and friends. And taking cheap shots by people who are hours later getting

handshakes. Whatever. Same shit, different decade...

Brand new: The Throwback League, play by play of a tournament among pennant-winners 1974-2005 brought to us by old pal Josh Lewin. 1974 A's taking on the 1992 Braves in the first game/episode.

Newest ep of Hollywood & Levine has Ken Levine trace his journey as a comedy writer who detoured for several years into baseball announcing. Great stuff on the minor league PBP experience in particular.

LOL at some of these remarks as I now have a podcast :P Haven't done any baseball on it yet though that will be in the future. Not sure if I'll be covering baseball weekly though.

Where classick horror meets pop-punk meets baseball?

LOL! I'll send you the link. And btw my 80's radio show is starting very soon and I'll definitely be playing some Ramones :)

Jay's always amiable alumni podcast features Howie Rose this week. Except for the part where Howie looks forward to Opening Day on March 26, it is gold.

Recommending this week's Metrospective with Turk Wendell taking shots at a couple of former teammates.

Also enjoyed the debut episode of Sounds from Seaver Way, in which Wayne Randazzo chats up authors. Anthony DiComo guests to preview his David Wright book.

Much like the blogs back in the day that didn't take their cues from what they read in newspapers (publishing series previews as if you couldn't figure out the Mets were playing the Cardinals tonight), the Mets podcasts I find most palatable are the ones that aren't under the impression that they have to be latter-day Mike and/or the Mad Dog.

I've been America's Guest on many of them. I'm happy to be asked and go where the hosts want, but I've never understand the point of "let's talk about shortstop depth" for the umpteenth time.

yeah, a lot of the internet is just aggregated nonsense at this point. One guy says something, 456 repeat it and maybe another 100 attempt to repeat it in their own words. Not that this is different with podcasts than say, Joe Buck saying something and every ESPN/talk show weighing in, but still.

Props to Amazin' Avenue's A Pod Of Their Own for that, mostly having a different take/angle/discussion.

My 'idea' would be more of a Barley Prose podcast where we talk beer and pair it with baseball. "This Triple IPA is huge, hoppy, and in your face. It really packs a wallop, much like Yoenis Cespedes' 3 HR game last night!"

Bump, because this is now a real deal! ;)

I listen to the Buster Olney one and the Shea Anything.

I also like listening to Effectively Wild which used to be from Baseball Prospectus but is now from Fangraphs.

Yes bump to this as well, thanks SJR!

We've done three episodes now - I think the idea/hope is to do it every week. Seawolf, Ceetar and I have done them all and ABNS has been on one as well. We've been recording them on Wednesdays and releasing them on Thursdays, it's about 80/20 Mets/Beer talk at this point but so far it's been fun to make. We keep it short, too, 30 minutes once Ceetar polishes and edits them.
