Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Yabbut ... he's a whole new Jan Brady.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Phil Regan seems to have fixed Sewald pretty quickly!
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 It's a getaway night, already, and now we're going torrential again as we near midnight? End this madness, refs.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 When McNeil and Nimmo return my guess is that Altherr and Flexen are sent back. If they return on Saturday then it's only 8 days until reinforcements can be added.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 I've fallen asleep about three times, so I'm going to just let that "REFS" crack go.Goodnight.

LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) While we wait... some highlights from the TB12 diet that brought Sewald back from the pitching graveyard:[bLOCKQUOTE]The Tom Brady diet offers an extensive list of foods to avoid or limit, as they're deemed acidifying or pro-inflammatory. These include dairy, nightshade vegetables, most oils, as well as soy-, GMO-, or gluten-containing foods...Food combining. Fruits should not be combined with other foods. Plus, you should avoid eating high-protein foods like meat or fish together with carb-rich ones like brown rice or sweet potatoes...You should halve your body weight in pounds and drink that many ounces of water daily. However, avoid drinking water with or around meals.[/bLOCKQUOTE] Edited August 22, 2019 by Guest

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 For those who fell asleep: this one went in the books at about 12:20 AM as a rain-shortened victory.Sweep.LFGM
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Five in a row. We're done playing junior circuit teams until late October.Indians' Twitter account referred to the Mets as a “fringe” playoff team.Go Twin.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Mets went 15-5 against the Junior Circuit this year. I wonder if that's their best-ever single season interleague record.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Bonus residue from the shortened game: Seaworthy's fine inning of holding work gets retroactively transmogrified into a save. That gives him one more save than Jeurys Familia in 2019.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Interesting how Lagares didn't dive for that first hit, which hit a foot or two in front of his glove. it was probably the right play for the game situation — you don't want to risk that ball getting past you and going for extra bases with two out and nobody on — but I've kind of gotten the idea that there's a code that defenders put it all on the line when trying to preserve a no-hitter, let alone a perfect game.
