I don't think anyone expects Wright to take home the Gold Glove this year; everybody has bad days. But he's gotta be better defensively than Wigginton. Either way, even eating Julio's salary, I'd make that deal. I don't know why Tampa Bay would want Julio, though.
Weird Stat of The Day: 44 years later, the Astros finally return to a .500 career record (3,507-3,507). The last time they were .500 was 6-6 in '62. Being some 350 games below .500, the Metsies still have a long way to go to reach that plateau.
John Olerud did it (1997?), Kevin McReynolds did it in August 1989. Keith Hernandez did it in the 19-inning game in Atlanta in 1985. I want to say that Alex Ochoa did it too, but that might be wrong.

="Iubitul"]="mlbaseballtalk"] Ah - Keith Hernandez' teammate in the minors... Keith Hernandez roomed with Miss Elizabeth!?!?! How come that didn't make it into any of his books?
="Nymr83"]exactly JD. I'm not talking about the benefits of bringing a team into town as was done in Denver (and i assume the stadium deal was part of getting the team and mile high was just a convenient place to play in the mean time.) I'm talking about the public benefits to buildig a new stadium when a functional one still exists. I think the largest public benefit is that it will reduce back injuries, because our wallets get to be a lot lighter from spending twice as much on tickets.
