  3. Any word on time frame for Familia?
  4. You figure the pitching will regress from what it's been. Hopefully the offense ticks up to make up for it.
  5. It's 10:38 a.m. I'm not one to criticize doctors, but what the fuck could the radiologist have had on his plate that's more important than deGrom's shoulder?!!?!?!? "Doc, I might have a tumor" I'm sorry to hear that. Can you just wait over there for a bit? We have some magazines, and help yourself to the water cooler.
  6. The Fields made it out to Citi for the first time since 2019. Thoughts on the game!!!! *No masks. No social distancing. Indoors or outdoors (though we didn't go into a club). No one asked us for a vaccination card. If you're not fully vaccinated, I would be very wary of going. *Atmosphere was electric for the first three innings. I've never experienced anything like it. Except for maybe a stray solo shot, the Cubs had no chance of scoring. Absolute dominance. *In this age of social media, everyone knew right away that Jake went down into the tunnel. Euphoria from striking out the side, to everyone head down checking twitter. Missed the Dom HR because I was looking at my phone. *the crowd absolutely loves Villar and Pillar. These guys are OPS-ing .764 and .719. That doesn't sound that impressive, but they seem to play better than their numbers. Great pickups. *Was shitty to have to bring in Diaz in that game, but it's great to see the crowd greet him so well. I don't know this trumpet song at all, but it seems to get everyone jazzed up.
  7. The new "drive slowly" commercial is fucking stressful.
  8. I have no memory of Willie Harris as a Met. I remember him making great catches against us as a skinny National. Dude put on some weight. I thought it was a terrible send. Not because the play wasn't close, but you've got first and third with one out and a guy who might be running out of gas on the mound. Getting thrown out there just can't happen. With two outs, I see it. Not with one.

  10. It's such a strange feeling being so happy with the Mets.
  11. Let me just mention three months too late that this is an excellent thread title.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: Well put. It's really interesting when you think about how desperate their promotion of him was. They needed help at every position but catcher, but he was the only batsman left who didn't require them to remove somebody else from the roster. Are you sure that's the right move? Putting Mazeika on the 40 man? What if we get stuck in a roster crunch? Come on. Be realistic. Do you know how many guys would have to get hurt before we even consider calling him up? And even if we do, it's not like he's going to bat in any big spots.

  14. =Fman99 post_id=64225 time=1621035208 user_id=86] Allen Iverson wants you to join him in a life spent throwing away your own money.
  15. Billy's got a good looking swing. Maybe he's a hitter? I should note I'm notably terrible at scouting, so this may not be a good sign. I'm having trouble figuring out if Billy is: 1. Jordany Valdespin. Good for a few days. 2. Mike Jacobs. Good for a few weeks. 3. Timo Perez. Good for one year. 4. Benny Agbayani. Good for a year or two. 5. Melvin Mora. Actually good.
  16. I don't see how we can be expected to vote considering it's impossible to tell who is Brandon Drury versus Billy McKinney versus Whatever Blankenhorn. I feel like the Baseball Gods are fucking around with me for starting the discussion on Dark Horse Mets.
  17. Maybe I'm just wearing blue and orange glasses, but I'd be shocked if deGrom were using something illegal. And keep in mind, I believed (and still do) that Piazza was juicing and that Beltran cheated in Houston. But guys like deGrom, Wright, Granderson. I just can't see if from some players.
  18. I think he waits to see what the terms of the new CBA will be. And assuming no severe penalties, he starts spending big this winter. deGrom, if he continues to be great, will be a Met for life.
  19. There is this lefty in Toronto. Good stuff but hasn't put it all together yet. Might benefit from a change of scenery.

  22. TCD Champion Michael Conforto.

It'd be a grey area for sure but they already use interpretations in rule at plays at the bases wrt contact and obstruction This is the answer.
