  1. So predictable. Fucking Rojas.
  2. Ugh. What's the point in having 19 pitchers if you don't use them.
  3. Go get him. This guys sucks. I'm ready to see Yamamoto.
  4. =kcmets post_id=62519 time=1619736482 user_id=53] I've often thought the Wiilpons knew Bernie was a a crook. Just commenting on the complicity slant.
  5. Without the Madoff returns maybe Fred never gets full control of the team. But without the Madoff collapse maybe he doesn't have to sell completely. Either way, I'm glad the Wilpons are gone while I'm still somewhat young.
  6. I see. So we did it to save money? Thanks BG! So wait. Are we no longer in Stockholm?
  7. It's funny how we were like it's so weird they don't score runs for Jake and the Mets were like it totally is and then stopped scoring for everyone.
  8. Hey Ted! Welcome back!
  9. I wonder if JD will play the field or just pinch hit.
  10. If you measure great pitching performances not by the number of hits given up but rather the self esteem of your competition, I think this gem stands on its own.

  12. Take him out Luis. Wtf. He's done enough. Don't let him get hurt.
  13. What happened to Soto? Out for 3-4 years I'm hoping?
  14. Edgy MD wrote: Homerun. Agreed. No doubter like Pete's.
  15. Just end the game. Mercy rule. Holy fuck.
  16. You guys can have your Anthony Home Recker. Neil Walker was (is) an objectively handsome man. We were fortunate to get him for Niese. I don't remember who the Pittsburgh GM was at the time but he was a buffoon. Always seemed to in control. I liked him. When we visited Pittsburgh it was a beautiful Friday night. The Pirates honored him and he responded by going deep. deGrom pitched a beauty. Just a perfect night.
  17. How can this entire lineup be this lost at one time
  18. Rojas asleep here.
  19. Gotta pull him here.
  20. Edgy MD wrote: Macky Sasser had big ol' jaw, a dangerous lefty stick, a disarming name, and a relatable challenge. But I think Hobie Landrith, as a career backup and the team's first-ever player under contract, is most worthy of the honor. And seeing as he's still among the living at 91, it'd be pretty cool. Actually, I could get behind this. The Hobie Landrith Award. Goes to our favorite backup backstop of each decade.
  21. I mean, one thing we can do, is name it the Duffy Dyer Award, then award it to our favorite (note, not best) backup catcher for each decade.
  22. Chad ochoseis wrote: My favorite backup catcher of this millennium, so far. Everyone needs a favorite backup catcher, right? Cool tattoos. Streaky hitter who would go on a tear every once in a while and I'd wonder why he wasn't an everyday player. Then he'd go 0-for-the-month. Seemed to know how to handle pitchers better than Ramos, though that's not a high bar. Glad he's on his way here. If I see him out on West 25th after a game, I'll gladly buy him a beer. As long as he's not at Town Hall. That place sucks. I was going to counter this with Ramon Castro, but I just looked it up and he was last decade. Crazy how time flies. We need to name this Backup Catcher Award after someone. Let's take nominations. Duffy Dyer is I guess the obvious choice. But Junior Ortiz was kinda badass. Ed Hearn wore glasses and was a World Champion. Charlie O'Brien had the Soul Glo curls to match Doc. Alberto Castillo had a GW hit on Opening Day.
  23. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Now the rain isn't predicted to start until 4. It's looking more promising that they'll be able to play today. I just wish this uncertainty wasn't happening on a DeGrom Day. So the Mets, like Peeping Toms and burglars, are looking for a window.
