    I think it’s time. You just can’t let him be in charge anymore. It’s not just the results. It’s the arrogance. It’s that he won’t change anything. Mendoza needs to be fired. The hitting philosophy needs to be dumped. The over reliance on lefty/righty matchups being a justification for giving terrible players ABs. Are you really going to let him handle the deadline? There’s no one I’d trust less.

    Per Mike Puma, Polanco’s wrist is fine. His Achilles bursitis has acted up, and there remains no timetable. Luis Robert has also not started baseball activities.

    Until the address their hitting philosophy nothing will change. Games are boring. I regret watching.

    Not that it likely would have made a difference but it’s inexcusable for Melendez to walk away shaking his head instead of challenging. It’s the 9th in inning. wtf are we doing. On top of everything else the Mets continue to play stupid baseball.

    If the Mets are to win tonight they’ll need to break that 0 for bazillion when trailing at the end of 8. who will be that closer they beat? Maybe Sewald?

    Assuming it’s still a 1 run game in the 8th you’d love to PH for Taylor leading off. Problem is there are no good options.

    I think it goes deeper. I think the organization’s hitting philosophy is detrimental. But the one setting it refuses to adjust.

    Soto being intentionally walked because no one feared the guys behind him is something everyone foresaw except the dickhead that makes decisions. the same dickhead that refuses to make any adjustment now.

    This was a big game. Their first chance to finally build some momentum and bite into this huge hole. Instead it’s more of the same. We were lucky to get a good start from Scott. But that lineup of retreads and never beens gave us no shot.
