  1. No timetable yet. But Mendy says he’ll be down for “quite a bit”. It’s worse than Soto.
  2. This is true. I remember thinking Wilmer must be flat footed. He was not only slow. He acted like his feet/ankles had fewer joints than the rest of us.
  3. A lot of those guys had a bit more frame to move so it’s understandable. Mark Vientos is a young, fit dude. It’s inconceivable how slow he is. Olerud was surprising too. For a guy that all and that athletic he was crazy slow.
  4. Missed this game. I can’t believe we finally won and lost Lindor. the baseball gods hate us.
  5. He throws with his left hand. Had an ERA over 5 in the minors last year. Thats all I got.
  6. Realistically: 1. Bichette I would think might be hard to move considering it’s an opt out. Like what team would want to be on the hook for $42 annually? Plus you have to cover his opt out bonus. 2. Polanco. Sure. But it’s a 2 year deal, so you’re throwing in money. I would guess not much of a return. 3. Peralta can get you a haul. 4. Minter/Raley. Maybe a low level prospect. 5. Holmes. Can get you something good if he keeps it up. 6. Luis Robert. Depends on how he’s doing. Maybe we can get Luisangel back. 7. Senga, Peterson. Not worth much I’d imagine.
  7. In 2024 they had a bunch of things break the right way in order to go on a run. The good news is there’s plenty of time for that to happen. A few things that can happen realistically: 1. Lindor and Bichette will be much better than they have shown. I think this goes without saying. 2. Soto comes back. 3. Baty and Vientos have never hit in April. I expect both will pick it up. How much they bounce back is TBD 4. Polanco will heal and might be productive. 5. Senga or Peterson might figure it out. Maybe both. I’m a little more inclined to think it will be Peterson. 6. Benge might figure it out. 7. Christian Scott might be good. If not maybe Tong. Or maybe Jack Wenninger. 8. Minter comes back. Ryan Lambert is good. Our pen improves. of these things, I think only 1 and 2 are a given. Everything else, well. We’re just hoping.
  8. I’m sure rushing Soto back during a freezing homestand because we are desperate will work out fine.
  9. And this is coming off of 2025. One of the worst years a Mets executive has ever had. maybe David Stearns sucks?
  10. Which makes it crazy how bad a run he’s on. It’s early, but it’s hard to comprehend how bad his moves have been. Bichette was his biggest acquisition. He’s been terrible. Jorge Polanco was his other big offensive move. Just as bad and now he’s injured. He gambled Semien over Nimmo, which looks terrible 23 games in. And Robert, who started off hot has cooled off badly during the past few weeks. His .737 OPS is by far the best of the crew. It’s looking more and more like Carson Benge was rushed. Devin Williams is a disaster. Luke Weaver has a 6+ ERA. Luis Garcia is already cut. Only Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers have been positive additions. That’s two good moves out of 10. Stearns is a smart guy with a track record of some success. How is he this bad?
  11. At this point Mets are just being assholes holding on to Mendoza.
  12. wtf. I’m glad the TCD never lived to see this.
  13. It’s crazy to play yourself out of contention in April.
  14. Great job by Warren. now we’ll only lose by 2.
  15. Omg. Leadoff walk. I shouldn’t have tuned in.
  16. Well that inning was quick. Looks like they haven’t had a baserunner in a while.
  17. Btw. Semien leading off? My goodness.
  18. Let’s score some fucking runs.
  19. The Mets are 20th in MLB in starter ERA. It’s not the biggest problem but it is very much a problem.
  20. I felt it was a long shot. It takes extraordinary circumstances for any club to consider firing a manager before Memorial Day. Doing so a month before requires even extraordinarier circumstances. But these are fairly extraordinary circumstances.
  21. Mets catch a break as Mick Abel is scratched from this start. One of the standout aspects of this 11 game losing streak is outside of Yamamoto and Ohtani, they haven’t faced anyone good.
  22. Two weeks since their last win. It’s almost comical.
