    Nice Hat

Wait... so I'm the only one who's been posting naked all these years?
  2. I would have thought the most produced card was the 1987 Topps Dan Plesac, based on how many I ended up with.
  3. The Dugout Chat knows how it all transpired. Transcript here[/url:twomty35]
  4. Unfortunately for Peterson, now he's more like the guy who stretches the little chain across the aisle to block it off while another guy uses a forklift to take something off a really high shelf.
  5. "NL fans would see something they don't usually see" Well, watching Joba try to hit is good enough for me.
  6. "they must learn to win on their own because I can't do this every game" Slacker.
  7. Hmm. I'd rather hear them say they're not thinking about anything beyond winning the very next game. I don't see a benefit in telling your team they have to play .620 ball to have a shot, even if it's the truth.
  8. Ugh. Glad I fell asleep in the 8th. I probably wouldn't have slept so well if I'd seen that ending.
  9. I don't know if anyone else watched the Mlicki game they just showed, but I was watching bits and pieces of it. Two things: 1) I could have sworn that game was a day game. I had vivid memories of listening to it at work. I dunno, it must be the rubber game I'm thinking of. 2) According to baseball reference, Dave Mlicki made over $20 million in his career. I mean, good for him, but holy shit.
  10. You gotta be kidding me.
  11. I started watching in the middle, as Bobby was scaling Mount Fuji. I hope to catch it from the beginning at some point, since it was very enjoyable. Loved it.
  12. Homer! You've got it set on "whore!"
  13. Heh. I don't want to be team president, just the GM. But in the interests of seizing control, put me down for $200.
  14. I was in from the get-go. Which makes me the front-runner for the GM job.
  15. I can't find the listing either. And get me some plans for that old ballpark, I'll draw up some new ones. It doesn't look like they've had an affiliation with a major-league club for a while. They've been part of a summer league for college players... gonna be tough to generate a profit. Hell, even the Cape Cod League collects donations during games. It would take some effort league-wide to compete with the Cape League for players, that's for sure.
  16. Seriously. I'm sure a bunch of us could pool (heh) enough money to buy that franchise. Plus, if we sold our houses in the tri-state area and bought new ones in Herkimer, we'd be sitting on plenty of capital.
  17. He's had more than his fair share of injuries but this is different. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on.
  18. This is soupcan Great news from the Mets. I'm with soup... it was just another reason to hate road trips last year.
  19. I love it.
  20. Shays = dick. I have a funny story I can share another time, in another thread. Carry on.
  21. I wonder if the people who like the home run apple also like the orange dot on top of the cap. For the record, I like 'em both. The apple is cool, and it's about the one thing left that's decidedly un-corporate. Of course it will probably end up with a giant Apple logo on it.
  22. Pictures of the van for extra credit.
  23. Cockfighting on astroturf. I had no idea. All I have in my yard is a small ring filled with sawdust. Astroturf would last a lot longer, and look better too.
