Just got back from Maui a couple hours ago... and after checking scores on my phone while trying to catch bits and pieces of games scattered around various TV's on the island for the past week... I've never been happier to see my couch. Let's win this thing!
The hell with it. As much as I want to see this thing clinched on the field, I might just root for the Astros tomorrow. Although they start half an hour later than the Mets do... should be a fun day.
Believe me, I'm considering all options. My wife is incredibly understanding about baseball season -- especially Mets Playoffs Baseball Season -- but I fear if I get caught watching baseball on this vacation she'll freak. Taping the games and watching them after she goes to sleep might be an acceptable compromise, although I'm not sure the house we're staying in has a TV. This could get ugly.
I'll be in Hawaii during most of the NLCS. I didn't schedule this... it's a buddy's wedding... and I can't really skip it just because of the playoffs. I'm really torn though. At least I will be if the Mets happen to be in it. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. I'm sure I'll have a great time, but part of my brain is going to be back home, soaked in beer, floating above the couch without me.
I haven't played trombone in a while, but given how much I used to play, it should be easy to get back up to speed. Like riding a bike. You want to battle for the position, Dickshot, or just take second chair right now?
