    I hope they start Vientos in Tuesday's game. Part of Mark's problem earlier in the season IMO was that he thought they wanted him to be Pete Alonso. We would have been happy with a good Mark Vientos. And he tried too hard. Maybe the stint in the minors has allowed him to focus. Let's see if they let him keep his hot streak going. Later

    I read that McLain, Scott and Thornton have exceeded or are about to exceed the most innings they have pitched in a year and that the Mets are monitoring their pitch counts very carefully. Later

    In yesterday's blowout of the Red Sox, MFY Jazz Chisolm stole 2 bases with the team up by 6 runs. When he did that, Red Sox radio announcer Will Flemming openly advocated for the team to hit Yankees catcher Austin Wells with a pitch and referred to Jazz Chisholm as a "bush-league player" after Chisholm stole two bases with the Yankees up six runs. A day after that contest, Flemming issued an apology, saying his comments crossed the line. OTOH, that WAS a bush league move. Thank you, Will, for pointing that out. Later

    Vientos his three home runs last night in a rehab assignment game. I'd rather see what he could do as a first base platoon when they recall him. Maybe he has recovered his magic. Later

    I may be wrong, but I think I remember Larry as a pitcher who came off the (those days) disabled list, threw a shutout against the Mets, then went back on the DL. It may have been someone with a similar name. Later
