  1. He got one - ibanez, ( or pretty close) a day early. Stearns can predict future injuries. He’s that good. 😳 later
  2. The hits just keep on coming. later
  3. I didn't realize the bottom of the barrel was that far down. Thanks, uh, I guess. Later
  4. Anybody but Mattingly (after his current temporary stint). I'm done with getting managers from the MFYs. Later
  5. The beatings will continue until the morale improves. Later
  6. I'd play Ewing a few games more at second to see if he can do it, but I like the idea. Later
  7. No real problems but it is easier on my pc than on my phone. I love the daily minor league game reports. If I could add anything to them, I’d like you to add a column with the positions in the box scores. It would be interesting Say, if they’re playing an outfield prospect in the infield. later
  8. Remember “Spahn and sain and pray for rain”? can we just go to the pray for rain part? later
  9. Looking for a different way to describe this mess. has anyone used “ grotesque “ yet? later
  10. That, my friends, is what we call a FAN! Later
  11. Building the system from the ground up may have hit a snag. The Binghamton AA team, where the organization displays its most promising prospects, has been no- hit twice in the last week. And it has been suffering in the same offensive doldrums as the big club. Just sayin'. Later
  12. Well, you can’t lose ‘em all. later
  13. An old saying says "things happen in threes" so I'm guessing another shoe will drop shortly. Later
  14. Y'mean Dembroski now has the opportunity to fire both the father and son on the same day? That might be a record. Later
  15. He's one of those (rare ?) dudes who has a higher BA in the majors .(250 over 2 years) than he has in the minors (.247 over 9 seasons). Some power , too. It will be interesting to see how, and at what position, he will be used. Later
  16. Ewing, was promoted to Triple-A on Monday after tearing up Double-A Binghamton. In 81 plate appearances over 18 games for Binghamton this season, Ewing slashed .349/.481/.571 (1.053 OPS) with two homers, six doubles, one triple, and 12 stolen bases. Later
  17. There's an old sports adage that says, "defense wins games, offense puts fannies in the seats". If that is true, people are going to be staying away in droves. It will make Grants Tomb look like Grand Central Station (the other one) And ownership will take action. Later
  18. Not their fault, but extremely similar- a lot of money spent, not popular in most of the country, and no positive results. funny. later
  19. Not only do you get kudos for the information, but also for fighting your way through what spell-check tried to do with those names. Later
  20. A couple of other slowness expressions. IIRC Tim McCarver said a player was so slow, you could time him with a sun dial, and Comedian Ron White used the term "slower than the speed of smell". Later
  21. Looking at Seawolf's list reminds me that stealing bases wasn't the only thing Al Moran wasn't good it. I can't imagine how he got on base enough times to have that many steal attempts. Later
  22. I see Binghamton play at Hartford (the Rockies' AA farm team) every year, and I still don't recognize any of those names. Great IGT/KTE, FK. Later
  23. IIRC it is fully at the discretion of the official scorer. But I think you're right. They generally give it to the "adjacent" pitcher. Later
