    Bingo! Until they prove themselves, prospects are just suspects. And - I didn't notice the resemblance to Weaver, But I liked Jeffrey Donovan in the tv series Burn Notice. He had chemistry with Gabrielle Anwar. Later

    Binghamton is coming to Hartford this week and I'll be there Sunday to do some personal scouting(and rooting). The prospect I've been following all year is Chris Suero. He is now at Binghamton where he has primarily been a catcher, but also plays OF and 1B. And he is an enigma. He's a "three outcomes" player but not the usual three. He hits homers(11) , steals bases(23) and strikes out - a LOT 91K in 234 AB). So it is no wonder that his BA is currently .197. A catcher with speed and power should certainly be a prospect. Now, if he can only correct that strikeout problem.. He's only 22 so maybe there's a chance. Great job on the analysis. Later

    Whatever trade value Peralta had is dropping with each outing. He's been hit pretty hard in 3 of his last five outings prior to this one. Later

    I was concerned about Alvarez. On the 6 o’clock news on channel 7, they showed him being hit on the hand by a Lindor practice swing. But i guess he wasn’t injured. later

    Yes I want to be unrealistic. I want the Mets to fill those lists with loads of prospects who come to the majors and produce winners year after year. I'm sick and tired of "LOL Mets" comments. We were told that Stearns was they guy who would do that, and so far he hasn't delivered. And that was the question that started this thread. I'm done with Stearns. Later

    Andrés Giménez has turned into a pretty decent player. But you have to give talent to get talent. Later

    At quick glance, Seattle has 6, LA (n)has 10, and Stearns' old Milwaukee team has 6 (but I'm not sure how many were drafted by him). Those teams, plus the MFYs and the Braves seem to dominate those lists year after year. Don't try to dazzle me with facts. I'm a Mets fan The basic issue is, I still don't think Stearns has lived up to his reputation as an organization builder since he joined the Mets. Later

    That's a shame. Consider the percentage of people who play professional baseball who make it to the majors, and how many are able to stay in the majors for ten or more years. If someone can do that, they deserve the thrill of seeing their name on a HOF ballot. Who knows? They may have been the favorite of a guy who becomes a HOF voter, and they get one vote. That shouldn't be taken away from them. Later

    But that's what I want - an organization so full of talent that the replacements do pop up like a gumball machine when players get promoted to the majors or leave the organization. There are some teams that have a disproportionate number of players on those lists, year after year, no matter who gets promoted or traded. Is it a bad thing to want them to be one of those teams or be disappointed when they aren't? Later

    Of course. But I'm not just talking about players at the major league doorstep on that list. He' s had a few years (and drafts and international signing periods) to have found some players who should be appearing at the lower levels of these lists because of their ability and/or promise. And they haven't. Later

    He was in the majors for 14 years. Anyone with ten or more years is eligible be on the ballot. That doesn't mean he got many votes. But I'm sure if you checked, he was on it. Later

    MLB.com announced it's updated list of top 100 prospects. The Mets have one player - Tong - at 83, who's been getting his ass kicked at AAA. Gee, I'm glad the owner hired Stearns to build an organization. (sarcasm meter = 9.7) It should also be noted that 3 rookies who were all Top 50 prospects two months ago are all showing a lot of promise in the majors in McLean, Benge and Ewing. And two more, RH Brandon Sproat and # 84 on the list Jett Williams., were traded for Peralta and Myers. But there is apparently nothing in the pipeline to replace them. Later
