You won't see him any time soon, Stearns prefers signing trash heap pitchers like Zach Pop and Colin Poche and instantly putting them on the roster instead of calling up the actual prospects. I saw a quote of his a few weeks ago in which he said he wouldn't bring up the kid pitchers this year, but might them in deals at mid season for proven major leaguers!!! Lets find out if those minor league prospects (McLain and Sproat) can get major league hitters out before they do something like that. Later

The answer is (f) none of the above. The rule at the time was that every team had to have a representative, and Billy was it for the O's. This was the team that, when he bought the club, new owner Bill Veeck put the entire team on waivers and nobody was taken by any major league club. So, Billy could say he was the best of the worst.
