  1. I know Stearns came here from Milwaukee. This is the equivalent of their sausage race. But we are NOT Milwaukee. We do not need small town hokey crap to keep the fans interested here. This is New York. Disgraceful. Later
  2. Troy Schreffler's a U of Maryland Terrapin, so he's go that going for him. (Go Terps) Luis Moreno popped up in minor league box scores a lot last year, as I saw he was used as both a starter and reliever. He started the year getting clobbered (ERA around 6). Then as the year progressed, he got it down into the 4's. He had a few good outings with the big club this spring. I hope he continues to improve this year. As for another Luis Moreno? I got nuthin'. Later
  3. Enjoy. We expect a full report. Later
  4. I can't answer that without knowing which other players they would have acquired for the cost of those two. Later
  5. HEY! My kid, Trey Mclaughlin is not only still in camp, but closing games. He got his first save the other day. My daughter had dinner with his mother last night, and they both would be very mad at you if I told them you are ignoring him. He at least deserves a "Still in camp" mention. Later
  6. 1. What will the Mets' record be? 82-80 2. Predict the NL East standings from 1 to 5: Phillies, Atlanta, Mets, Washington, Miami 3. Will the Mets make the playoffs (if so, as the division champ or 1st, 2nd, or 3rd WC)? 2nd WC 4. If so, how far will they go? Lose in the NLDS 5. Who will be the World Champion? Milwaukee Brewers 6. Number of regular season HRs for Pete Alonso: 34 7. Who will be on the cover of the 2025 winner of the Tabloid Cover Derby? Mark Vientos Later
  7. PSST, just between you and me, I think they make the load times so long so that we'll get frustrated and sign out before we can get to the Bitch to the Admin page and bitch about slow load times. Later
  8. Has broken left hamate bone replaced quad strain as the injury of the year? Both Alvarez and Hagenman have it. Is it catching, or are only batterymen at risk? Later
  9. I heard that song a lot when I was a kid. RIP. Later
  10. Channeling Rodney Dangerfield, "The second opinion is... he's ugly." Later
  11. I thought it might have been. Later
  12. What was the source of that review? Los of research went into those first two points. Later
  13. Ex-GM Billy Eppler has signed on as an advisor for the Milwaukee Brewers. https://metsmerizedonline.com/morning-briefing-former-mets-gm-billy-eppler-joins-brewers/ Later
  14. I saw Flashdance and wasn't crazy about it. I saw Footloose and liked it, but wouldn't go out of my way to see it again. I saw Dirty Dancing and loved it, and have seen it again several times. I also loved the dancing in Xanadu (1980) Later
  15. His name is Edward Norton and I'm rooting for him to finally get the Best Supporting Actor award because I believe he really got screwed out of the award for his performance in Primal Fear. Later RATS! Later
  16. What were the other two? Later
  17. As Dick Young said about Hector "what a pair of hands" Lopez, "He plays fly balls like they'll explode on contact". Later
  18. His name is Edward Norton and I'm rooting for him to finally get the Best Supporting Actor award because I believe he really got screwed out of the award for his performance in Primal Fear. Later
  19. The Mets have signed Jose Urena to a minor league deal. He's a 10 year veteran who can both start and relieve. https://sny.tv/articles/mets-sign-jose-urena?fbclid=IwY2xjawItbd9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdgSF54_9uHiUUekboZQaFsXzXkYK05F0zjTwaJLa48edv9-n6E9DI9ZKw_aem_j09qd2xD7hU7LJPtyCbzuA I have a feeling that he will make the major league roster not long after Spring Training. Later
  20. ... which I have read may hurt Ralph Fiennes in the best actor category because many critics considered this an ensemble-type movie. Later
  21. More likely it was to try and create a trade market for him. Probably right. I'd think the other teams know he has a reputation of having a high maintenance personality. (best words can think of right now - mercurial?) So this would be to show he's healthy enough (mentally and physically) to pitch. Later
  22. MFYs won the game today. Marcus Strohman started and pitched a scoreless inning. He had a presser in which he said he would not pitch out of the bullpen this year. Was this to placate him? Later
  23. Who is going to judge what "well groomed" means? Is there a standard against which beard hairs will be measured? I can just see one of the coaches out there with a caliper measuring individual hairs. If they pluck them before measuring, will they consider the root? Ludicrous. Later
  24. Up to now, the Roster thread has been music free. But that was BOC worthy. Later
  25. Are you saying it had to be somebody who hasn't been on the major league team before now? The original rules weren't clear about that. I took it as someone who unexpectedly makes a major contribution. I guess that eliminates Brazoban, my second choice, too. Later
