  3. ]Since June 1, when he was finally recovered from a strained oblique that cost him the season's first three weeks, Cameron leads the Major Leagues with 31 extra-base hits -- Ah now i get it! you "recover" from an injury on the day that is most convenient for purposes of the article!
  4. parking was a bitch the other night and only looks to get worse. they are pushing the public transportation option hard and io hope all the fuckers who live along the train lines do the right thing and take the train, but i live in SI and public trans to Shea is a mess. (train or bus to the staten island ferry, number 4 train to 42nd street, 7 train to shea- travel time 2 hours compared to a 1 hour drive, and its worse coming home because the ferry runs less frequently at night)
  5. i still think the camerom deal doesnt look good, but boy has omar outsmarted me on the seo deal and done decently on the benson deal as well.
  6. at least the Brewers are experimenting rather than using the good old "well nobody else does it so it must be wrong." whether or not it helps his roto stats, i like the idea of using starters, who will be throwing on the side anyway that day, in relief occassionaly as they are likely to be better pitchers than all but hte top 2 or 3 relievers on most teams and its always good to give important innings to good pitchers
  7. yes. even 5 earned doesnt normally get points, 8 runs whether earned or not is a big fat 0
  8. just got home. 1st and 3rd, 1 out. shrink jay-satan please.
  9. be part of the control group, the pay is the same and they don't do anything to you.
  10. Nady 3 Hernandez 3 Sanchez 1 Wagner 1 Delgado 1 Valentin .5 Floyd .5
  11. Delgado 3.5 Floyd 1 LoDuca 1
  12. ]Shea smells worse than Yankee Stadium? I don't think so. ever been inside, or even near, a yankee stadium bathroom, especially in the bleachers? that place smells like a latrine at a scout camp. ]The Mets might be running away with the NL East, but they still have a long way to go before they catch the Yankees. catch the yankees? are they in the NL now? are we fighting them for homefield? no? ok, nevermind then. ]The Yankees have 26 world championships, the Mets two. The Yankees have retired 15 numbers, the Mets three, and two of those Mets were managers, And one was an ex-Yankee manager who won seven of those Yankees championships. only frontrunners who call themselves fans care. also, if george ran the mets they'd have retired Koosman, Kingman, Strwaberry, Gooden, Carter, Hernandez, and god knows who else. ] But there is one category in which the Mets are about to pull even with the Yankees: fan arrogance. we aren't even close, maybe if we win this year the bandwagoners will come on board and give us the same bad rep they gave yankee fans after '96, but i doubt that even then they'll be AS bad.
  13. maine has earned more starts and el duque has pitched his way out of them.
  14. kaboom! 4-3 Mets.
  15. i believe so, i think we were 20 over after the 8 game winning winning streak and that we have just pulled over .500 (16-15) for the first time since then
  16. Maine 6 Valentin 2.5 Delgado 1 Floyd .5
  17. i hope they let Maine finish the game.
  18. KABOOOOOOOOOOOOM

  20. ]I'd move the Mets to Kansas City if I owned them ]I would grab a bat and ... coming on the heels of KC's post i expected that sentence to end with "... beat you over the head."
  21. theres a lot of choices, i think i'd start with seeing Wright and his agent were amenable to a deal that gave him security (read: gauranteed $$) in exchange for the first 2 years of what would have been free agency.
  22. How would you like to be the guy who went 0-11? thats a series-long slump in just 6 hours.
  23. ]I'd keep Milledge, Pelfry, Humber, and Bannister no matter what pitchers are being offered now. I wouldn't consider Bannister anything near untouchable. ]Does Hillenbrand play second? 1B/3B/DH so far in his career, though i'd sure take him on the bench...playing time seemed to have been his problem in toronto though and we dont need to bring in an unhappy player for the stretch run unless he really fills a need which hillenbrand does not
  24. i gave Bradford 1.5 and Glavine 2 which i think is fair. 6+ with 2 runs is generally worth a 3 from me (though context varies.) Glavine was a bloop away from no points at all, and he didnt get himself out of it. Additionally i'd have been less critical of him if he had simply given up bloop hits to load the bases. But he didn't, he gave up a double and then walked 2 guys. The out he did recorded was a sac.
  25. Glavine 2 Bradford 1.5 Heilman .75 Feliciano .75 Wagner .75 Floyd 1.25 Delgado 1 Chavez .75 Beltran .75 Nady .5
