Hard to find myself caring about this. It's not like basketball/football where you can be excited* to see your first round pick take the field next year. Whoever they take will maybe suck or get traded in a few years and maybe just maybe will be a productive player in New York 3-5 years from now. *Or fearful, I am a Jets fan after all

Both moves make sense for different reasons. The Mets had no backup middle infielder for awhile. I was fine with that strategy, but Baty did nothing to show he belonged here at all, do now it is time to give Vientos his shot instead. Yeah, and I think the ejections speak to that - he is prolific ejector of players not for the things that should be automatic like fighting but for arguing with him. One thing I didn't look at, see FK's last post, is does he screw people in the late innings more than usual (because, as John Franco alleged, he "has a plane to catch") - I think the numbers for that exist but likely require parsing
