Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I've had strep as an adult - that's nasty shit!Heal quickly Thor!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 WTF is the next affliction to strike the team?Locusts?Later
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 It's the dreaded New Yorker cover jinx.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Wow. They're not making it easy, are they?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 In the best case scenario here:- Thor is all well and good by Monday- he "saved" his start for the Marlins instead of "wasting" it on the mere Phillies- was probably only going to start twice more in the regular season anyway so doesn't lose one- and it lines he and Bartolo up for the final two games of the season if needed- or, if not needed, for the WC game and Game 1 of the NLDS... so this winds up not being a net loss in the long run and we survived his missed outing and Ynoa's bad replacement on Friday.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Well, last night's game was surviving Matz's replacement by Ynoa. The Mets still have to survive today's replacement of Syndergaard by Gilmartin.By not pitching today, Noah is no longer aligned to start the Wednesday playoff game on regular rest, but I'm pretty sure that if he regains his health they'll find a way to get him to start that game. My guess is that he'll only have one remaining regular season start, but that might be sufficient.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I wonder if he was sick during his last start against the Braves. Looked like shit.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Yeah, and he came out strong, but faded real fast, just like you can expect a sick person over-estimating his strength to do.
Guest cooby Guests Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I know we're not allowed to talk about our fantasy teams here, but not having him today will probably end my season. Pump.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Great Line from Todd Zola, ESPN Fantasy Writer:Gsellman steps in for Syndergaard, unable to make the start, as he is suffering from a case of strep throat. The good news is you don’t have to visit Dr. Andrews for that.
