G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 The Mets are in the World Series. That was fun to type. I think I'm gonna type it again. The Mets are in the World Series.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I heard that this will be the first World Series in history where none of the original 16 major league franchises is participating.Later

They are tied in WS wins, have the most pennants.

Very cool that this is another.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I was totally counting on playing the Jays. I prefer this matchup.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 KC is a well balanced team with no real weaknesses. They do everything well if not spectacularly. And they have the "we will find a way to win this" kind of mentality all the way to the last out. This will be interesting.Later
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Hope this Series sparks a tiresome "the Buffalo Bills of baseball" narrative for KC.
Guest El Segundo Escupidor Guests Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 There's definitely an old school vibe about this WS, like pre-Interleague where two teams were totally unfamiliar with each other and the chemistry of them colliding produces a result difficult to predict. Just like it should be.

Just like it should be.clearly. Unlike the NLCS, where the Mets-Cubs regular season head to head record gave us a good insight into the series.
Guest El Segundo Escupidor Guests Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Whereas the Mets pitchers faced an almost identical Cubs line-up (with the exception of Russell), the Cubs pitchers faced a radically different team in the NLCS. This gave the Mets a very distinct advantage in the playoffs. I'm sure the Mets learnt plenty from getting trounced by the Cubs during the regular season.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 It just occurred to me that the results of this WS will also determine whether the Mets' overall WS record -- currently sitting at 12 games won/12 games lost -- will sit above or below the equator going forward.
