Starting with this pretty sweet card of one of the earliest top homegrown, and with a pretty long career with the team offensive standouts in Met history

Agreed. Go outside, turn around three times and spit.

It is no coincidence that your last post started with 666.
I hope Winston Smith was not right.

Does it really matter what the sorry ass magic number is if this sorry ass team is going to continue to get bitch slapped by a team with the worst offensive stats in the majors?

So fucking what if they make the playoffs? they'll continue to pitch like this and they'll be done before I eat my second hot dog during Game 1 of the first round.

Right now I see no reson to celebrate the fact that this team, despite their best efforts, is inching towards the playoffs. Its a joke. And its not a very funny one at that.

Hey Tom Glavine, you suck.

2007. NEVER FORGET.

I love Steve too, he bought me my last beer at Shea. Not
intentionally, but it's the memories that count...

What was reported? I'm largely off-the-air today. Got no emails.

Hold on. I'm still laughing.

I like how I made one contribution and it was musical.
I agree with Valadius. I start counting at 20.
But I do support this thread and your right to go for it at 21.

I reported this, under the "Off Topic" subject after the first few "STEVE, WTF" posts.

I'll have to re-read tomorrow, not getting what you mean
by reporting...

I have no problem with a magic number thread.

It might be duplicative of the NHOP thread but whatever, I still don't see a huge problem with it.

Time to get out of the shadow of 2007. That shit's not going to happen again.

On Sept. 5, 2007, my dad died.

On the day of his funeral, I kissed him goodbye and whispered "Pedro's pitching tonight."

The Mets proceeded to tank. Even my mom complained.

Nothing has been the same for me since, but I'd love to see them win for my dad. Magic number away, Steve!
