unlikely a match up this is for a World Series con-
test I would watch every pitch with great interest.

The A's; but any of the Wild Card play-in qualifiers, because in my mind I suppose, that'll show how wrong it is to allow so many baseball teams to qualify for the playoffs.

I really don't understand all of the hate for the Nationals. They are to me, easily the most benign of our division foes. They have committed no major atrocities towards our fanbase or team, other than winning a disproportionate number of games.

I understand the douchebag factor (Werth, Harper) but they've got a long way to go until they are become nearly as loathsome as the Phillies, Braves or Marlins.

That said, I'm still rooting for Pittsburgh.

Isn't the in-division, douchebag factor, and the idea that they manhandled us this season enough?

I think that the Marlins new stadium, uniforms, and total roster turnover erases their old douchebag image. They get a clean slate with their re-branding.

Florida Marlins = dicks.
Miami Marlins = cool.

Getting beaten by a division rival isn't a reason to hate them, it's a reason to want your own team to get better. Unless they are somehow douchebags in the way they are beating you; but I don't see that having happened.

Well, to a certain extent, familiarity does breed contempt. But I don't really see any teams in this post-season that I would root against, other than St. Louis.

A Pirates-Royals World Series would be nice. (It sounds like a strange matchup, but the two teams did win pennants in consecutive years back in 1979 and 1980.) That said, I'm not really rooting for anyone. If the Mets aren't in it (and they usually are not) I pretty much tune out the post-season.

Yeah, I guess it could work that way, if I didn't think their stadium was garish, their uniforms clownish, and their roster turnover more of the same chump-and-dump.

and this year some of the game are on FOX Sports 1. I know I used to have that channel but I pared back on my cable recently,I imagine quite a few people do not have it.

I'm with Gwreck on this. No loathing for Washington. And I can support them as underdogs because the franchise has never won a World Series, nor a pennant. They're currently third on my list of teams I'd like to see win the World Series this year after Pittsburgh and Kansas City.

Now in future years if they have a title or two under their belts AND the Mets are actually competitive AND the Nationals keep eliminating the Mets, then I'll totally be against them.

Michiganders are happy people and they are even happier when the Tigers are in the World Series. Good things happen when Michiganders are very happy in the mid to late fall. Really good things.
