Exciting! Jason Bay, back tomorrow night. I assume that Valdespin will be sent down.

I think they 'd sooner farm out Sateen than Valdespeen, as sending down Jordany leaves Joshie as our backup shortstop.

Come on Dillon Gee! Nymr83 needs another no-no!

So I got to the office this morning and remembered that half my office went to the game friday night. I declined as I was headed to AC. Gambling is bad for you, even if you win, because now I'm just jealous!

I can live with a five-inning shutout win.

Fun Fact: Kyle Lohse is an American Indian.

Unfun Fact: I conflate him with Jeff Suppan.

See, the Cardinals have their lead of the series.

well, hope they enjoyed it while it lasted. They can try again in September if they like.

Four game sweeps, how rare?

A few times a year.

In 2011:
Mets swept a 4 game series in Cincinnati
Were swept at home twice in 4 game series - by Colorado (April) and Washington (September).

Four game sweeps with a no hitter in 'em? Rarer.

Quintanilla's got more than a little Jose Valentin in that mug/mien. (More than a little Pitbull-- dale!-- too, but I prefer to think of him the other way.)

This has the smell of a late-inning bullpen gift to the Redbirds, though.

It would be very disappointing if we look back on this, a season in which the Mets spent almost all their offseason resources "improving" the bullpen, as a potential playoff team ruined by the bullpen.
