duan Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 nah, he's a 3rd baseman by trade. I think they won't put him at first because "we don't want him to have too many things to think about" etc etc etc.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 holychicken wrote:="Edgy DC"]Ugh, put Murphy at first! Is it possible that he is actually worse at first?I doubt that's their thinking. More likely they think the long term effect of too much hay being made over assigning to first for a day outweighs the short-term effect of having a better defense out there.I'm telling you here that playing Murphy around will relieve his worried mind, rather than further burden it.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I need to buy some noise cancelling headphones. Earbuds are good for the gym but they're not something I want to wear for three hours.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Hmmm...were going to need more than a couple runs today.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I'm beginning to not like Jorge Cantu.Later
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Good start for the Mets! Another three bagger at Triples Field, this one for Reyes.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Welcome to TripleLand, home of the New York Mets.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Safety squeeze, 2-1 Mets. They're bunt happy! Murph on with a bunt single.P.S. Wayne Hagin still blows.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Bunt single: the speciality of any #3 hitter.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I hate bunting for 1 run but i guess with Cora's .245/.313/.348 line he is the guy to do it with, he shuoldnt be batting 2nd.Murph with a bunt single!

soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Say what you want about Cantu - he's good.It seems that whenever I watch the Marlins he comes up big.2-1 Fish by the way Fman.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Wright watches one belt high on the outside part of the plate for strike three. That's like his pitch.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Last Play: D. Wright struck out lookingI'm sick of this too.

Murphy's not a 30 HR guy anyway and in this stadium, might not finish the season with 10. Bunting for a hit is nothing like bunting for an out.
