stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Don't look now but the Yankees are 10 games over 500 and 9 games out of the division.I haven't listened to any call in shows, but I'd gather Yankee fans along with WFAN's Mike Francessa, 1050's Max Kellerman, Steven A. Smith, Brandon Tierney and bridge jumping Met fans like WFAN's Joe Beningo and 1050's Don LaGreca are starting to make plans for October Baseball in Da Bronx for 2007!Elimination for the Division = 63Elimination for the Wild Card (7 back) = 65

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 that is indeed scary, especially since the government holds the individual, not the tax-preparer, responsible for mistakes.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Blue Jays trying to salvage a game in this series.Wang was mowing them down and held a 2-0 lead but the Jays tallied 3 runs in the 7th and are trying to close out the 9th.- Replacement closer Jeremy Accardo in- ARod ... single- Matsui ... K- Cabrera ... a groundout too shitty to either get a DP or even a force play (I swear the Yanx specialize in those) so it's tying run on 2nd, 2 out, Cano up.... and he skies to LF and the Jays win !!!!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I can't believe they put LF in the lineup.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 They used a lefty specialist for one batter down by eight runs in the second inning!?!?! Is Torre drunk?

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 And Jon Garland is doing his best to get the Yanks back in this. Four runs with no one out in the bottom of the second, including a 3-run bomb by Wilson Betemit.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 8-6 now. Chicago sucks. Garland sucks. I wish Atlanta had traded for him.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 The White Sox make me want to puke. I'd like to hire Ozzie Guillen just so I can fire him.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 White Sox have scored two in the fourth and one in the fifth and now lead 11-8.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Konerko and Dye go yard, 13-9 good guys in the 8th.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 And that's the final score. 13-9 White Sox.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Alex Rodrihuez hit a first inning, 3-run homer to left field off Royals starter, Kyle Davies. Rodriguez becomes the 22nd player in MLB history to hit 500 home runs in a career.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 That Yankee comeback seems futile, team-wise, but they bailed Clemens out of a must-deserved loss, so there's that.
Guest cleonjones11 Guests Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Yankees only have 2 less wins than mutts..
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 And yet we're in first place and they're not, and even if we were, we're not competing against each other. So I don't see why I should care.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 ="cleonjones11"]Yankees only have 2 less wins than mutts..You do realize that the Yankees caught up with the Mets? The Mets did not fall down to the Yankees. Big difference and no need to call the Mets a derrisive term because of it.Also, as seawolf said, or as a great Jedi master would say;It matters not!Especially on August 7th.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Plus, unlike the Mets killer June schedule, the Yankees have played 25 straight games against teams with a sub-.500 record. 20 of their next 23, however, are against stiffer competition
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Hopefully they'll lose 20 of their next 23 then. After the way this season started, how badly would it suck if the Yankees were playing in October and the Mets weren't? Mets in, Yankees out is the best possible way for the regular season to end.
