MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 as in get hot, carry the team on his back and lead them to a decent winning streak?Later
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Daubach, strating today, Willie better have him as the DH.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I voted Floyd. But I hope it's Beltran. (Interesting that he wasn't even a choice in the poll.) It would be good for him, and the Mets, if he had an insane hot streak like he did last October.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I reckon Piazza. He's gonna hit a hot streak at some stage.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Floyd's done it before, Cameron hurt, Daubach an ignis fatuus, Wright maybe, but not quite. That leaves Mike.

It seems to be taking a long time for that to happen.Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 What duan said - Piazza's due for a hot streak.
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 You realize of course that everyone retires "due for a hot streak."Sometimes for years, due.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Man y'all are a bunch of Piazza fanboi kiss-up's!OE: Hee-hee, Bret said it better than I.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 He had a hot streak the first week of May this season. I think he has at least a couple more of those left in the tank.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I can't remember his last home run.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I also voted for Piazza, because he can't be this bad forever. I see your point, Irish: when YSG asked us to go back and vote on those Schaefer games, I saw Piazza's two home run game in Milwaukee and thought "when the heck did that happen?" I didn't remember it at all. Sad.He hasn't homered since May 9. Ugly.
willpie Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Wright, but not until he starts batting higher than 6th on a regular basis.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Piazza isn't "due" for anything but retirement. he's washed up and done.Daubach has two walks in 3 PAs today, very encouraging.Wright is the man but you don't carry ateam batting 7th every day...Willie is a fool.Floyd already did carry the team, its someone else's turn.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Cliff has already demonstrated that he can still dominate and carry this team. With Cameron and Beltran ailing, then it has to be Floyd and Wright that step forward to carry the offense until the outfield is healthy again. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt that Piazza has a hot streak that extends beyond 4 or 5 games left in him at this point in his career. I voted for Cliff.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 I'd vote for Matsui but he may be hurt... again.I'm in denial and pretending that Beltran's all better.Usually much stronger in the 2nd half.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 I would have voted Beltran, or "no one".
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Nobody voted Cammy. I think he was our PotM for June, no?
