The Mets need six more outs and this thread needs more people. Yeah I thought this new place was supposed to be teeming with more people 🙁 metirish 1
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Ewing fucked tgat up in every way, giving us a 10th inning scenario in the 9th
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Tena pinch hitting. Tena, Tena, Tena .... isn't that an Israeli folk song? MFS62 1
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 My apologies to Mr. Peterson! Nice job - and kudos to the pen, too!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Quite the tightrope. I hope one or two of you are available to pitch tomorrow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Luis Torrens may be hot, relatively, but he's still a guy I pinch-hit for in the ninth there. Taylor, Brujan, or Morabito all force Washington to bring the infield in, and Taylor suddenly suddenly has hero fluids running through his bloodstream. Speaking of Taylor, Brujan, and Morabito, notice how Mendez isn't replacing Soto for late-and-close defense these days.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Author Posted May 21 I missed this whole game. What a big balls performance by the bullpen.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Since I couldn't see the game and it was 93 degrees outside, I spent the day cleaning out the garage. I checked in on my computer with MLB Gameday app. The Mets really needed to win today and get the series split. Glad to see that Bichette appears to have figured what his bat is for. I kept saying that I wasn't worried about him, because he has (virtually) always hit. Then after his slump kept dragging on, I found I was starting to doubt that he would snap out of his funk. Relieved to see that he is showing signs of life and giving hope for his offensive resurgence. Hopefully, it continues. Centerfield 1
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Nice to see Bichette got hot, sometimes the change of weather gets them going
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22 Posted May 22 The Marlins got beat pretty soundly by The Braves tonight, and do you know what that means? SOLE POSSESSION OF 12TH PLACE! And you know what else that means? FOURTH PLACE IN THE DIVISION!! Apart from all that, the Mets lead the league in Morabitos. The only limit on this team is the end of horizon.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Listened to the first few innings on my run and then watched the rest. Twas a good win. When they failed to score in the top of the 9th, and then allowed the leadoff double in the bottom of the 9th, I was convinced they were fucked, so it was nice that they pulled it out.
