Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Tough loss last night. Now it's a trip to San Fran to face the Giants. How are you feeling about the first week of the 2026 Mets? metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I'm feeling not good at all, thank you Can a series in the second week of the season be big? I think so and this one is , Giants aren't great either though
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 2 Posted April 2 On the bright side, Lovelady got a day off and could conceivably pitch today. But on the down side, Lovelady got a day off and could conceivably pitch today. I'm not worried about Bo but hopefully some of those liners will start dropping tonight. I am already worried about Semien. I know it's only 20 ABs, but he had about 40 more in spring that amounted to a .205/.239/.410 line, so the body of work is slowly becoming damning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Take heart. We haven't signed Julio Teheran for this series. I mean, not yet, anyhow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Mets all-time record vs. the Giants (I believe) is 302–348.
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Ha! I can remember dad and I staying up and watching these games and then getting up for work and school. can’t imagine that now. metirish 1
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Brock, btw in case nobody has told you, the tradition at the old site was if you start an in game thread; if the Mets win you do the next one- to keep the mojo going if the Mets lose, someone else posts the next one., stopping the bad mojo. Later
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Vientos is at first, batting fifth sixth. Benge sits again versus a lefty and Tyrone Taylor gets the start and bats ninth. Semien, who as you will recall, sucks, is hitting seventh. God speed to Francisco Alvarez who is sandwiched between those two.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Bo Bichette is, apparently, able to hit for extra bases. 1-0 good guys
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Robbie Ray is an XL wearing a size M

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I'm hanging around for three innings or until they give up 17 runs ... whichever comes first.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I knew Vientos was going to come up slugging after that defensive stop got his adrenaline going.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Oh for fecks sake , Semien can't make the play , Peterson getting hit
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Good for Vientos, but what the heck was Semien doing that far out in centerfield?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Reaching beyond his grasp. But we have that low pitch count going. It's moving along like three-pitch softball.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 How can a team look this bad just a week into the season?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 One trend from last year continues: Lindor and Soto never getting hits/on base in the same inning. When one hits the other doesn't and vice versa.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Good at bats from Bo so far and good catch at the fence by Bader
