Tough loss last night. Now it's a trip to San Fran to face the Giants.

How are you feeling about the first week of the 2026 Mets?

I'm feeling not good at all, thank you

Can a series in the second week of the season be big?  I think so and this one is , Giants aren't great either though

On the bright side, Lovelady got a day off and could conceivably pitch today. But on the down side, Lovelady got a day off and could conceivably pitch today.

I'm not worried about Bo but hopefully some of those liners will start dropping tonight.  I am already worried about Semien. I know it's only 20 ABs, but he had about 40 more in spring that amounted to a .205/.239/.410 line, so the body of work is slowly becoming damning.

Brock, btw in case nobody has told you, the tradition at the old site was if you start an in game thread;

if the Mets win you do the next one- to keep the mojo going

if the Mets lose, someone else posts the next one., stopping the bad mojo.

Vientos is at first, batting fifth sixth. Benge sits again versus a lefty and Tyrone Taylor gets the start and bats ninth. Semien, who as you will recall, sucks, is hitting seventh. God speed to Francisco Alvarez who is sandwiched between those two.

I knew Vientos was going to come up slugging after that defensive stop got his adrenaline going.

Reaching beyond his grasp.

But we have that low pitch count going.  It's moving along like three-pitch softball.

One trend from last year  continues: Lindor and Soto never getting hits/on base in the same inning. When one hits the other doesn't and vice versa.
