MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 After all the pros and cons discussed in the other thread, what do you think Pete actually will do?Later
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Other team, 4+ years, sad but they can deal with his downfall at age 32 or whatever the sim scores say
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Four years with the Mets at historical MLB numbers.Don't understand the '+' thing in the poll choices.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Author Posted October 13, 2025 Don't understand the '+' thing in the poll choices.4 or more than 4Later
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 If teams are offering contracts beyond 4 years in length, then I don't expect to see Pete in a Mets uniform next season. I expect at least one team to offer 5-6 years. In that scenario, I am okay with with letting Pete play elsewhere.
Bob Alpacadaca Verified Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I think if the Mets offer four years and $150 million it gets done. I hope.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 Your online with my thinking. In the Alonso Conundrum thread I had said 3 years/$115-120 mil. or 4 years/$145-150 mil. Is the range I would be shooting for if I was the Mets. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 ... hopefully come up with a better look for his hair.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I think he's going to get 4 years + from someone. I think it won't be us. Give me Pete @ 3*33 and I can cope, even though it's a massive over pay. Beyond that I think you are just making your life harder in the short-medium term.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I guess he should have a will, now that he's a dad. Seems awfully young to get into the topic thoughMets, 6 years, $200 mill and the people rejoice. It's not my money, pay the man
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 ... hopefully come up with a better look for his hair. 😂
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I went with Mets for 4 years. If some team gives him 5-6 years, he's probably gone, but I have a hard time coming up with a team that will offer him that.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I do too. Everyone else sees the same things we see.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 Money shouldn't be the fulcrum deciding the issueThe fans want Pete, get Pete5/165 in some creative deal that requires the hair to be restyled
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Yankees give him 5 years and way too much money.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I guess he should have a will, now that he's a dad. Seems awfully young to get into the topic thoughI thought the same thing. At least add three dots after "Will".
