Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Seriously, is there anything worse than a boozed-up bunch of entitled Yankee fans?
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I just imagined that's what all New Yorkers are like. MFS62 1
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I can see last night happening in any ballpark. The 2024 incident is a special kind of awful.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Those MFY fans are called bleacher creatures for good reason. Later

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9 Posted October 9 That was when a douchebag in right field tried to literally rip Mookie Betts' arm off his body. whippoorwill 1
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Looked it up and saw the video. Holy crap i love the self righteous guy beside him acting like he’s puzzled about Betts’ complaint
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Thugs at a Yankee game, what's the world coming to? Next thing you'll try to tell me is that Philly fans are drunk MFS62 1
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Fans are drunk and stupid most places I would guess
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 12 Posted October 12 There are degrees, though. The shit that goes down between Dodger fans and Giants fans is scary. They're not just stupid, older drunks. They've got guys who you'd be scared to run into anywhere mixing it up. I don't know if baseball is better when those two teams aren't good at the same time, but it's safer.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12 Posted October 12 The problem with MFY fans, specifically the 'Bleacher Creatures' in RF/RCF, is that harassment, abuse, and sometimes criminal behavior towards out of town fans (and even locals who weren't part of 'the gang') was tolerated by stadium security as if the team itself had the same aim as the worst element just in a more passive, look-the-other-way kind of way. So it's not surprising that the two guys assaulting Betts did what they did so publicly and obviously. They simply didn't expect anyone to stop them or to suffer any repercussions. And even after the fact the team's first instinct was to kick them out of that game but welcome them back the next day. Business as usual, boys will be boys, nothing to see here. whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I’ve only been to Yankee Stadium twice, one time we were literally on the very top row and someone stole our scorecards while we were walking around before the game. On the other hand the Yankee fans around us were super indulgent to our young son and his friend who were both dressed to the nines in Indians gear. Sweet memory MFS62 1
