Does Megill usually throw this fast? Gameday is reporting him throwing consistently in the 95-97 range. He just struck out Turner on pure heat.

Four HRs for Lindor this season:

- Leading off the 1st (4/8)

- Leading off the 9th (4/18)

- Leading off the 1st (4/20)

- Leading off the 1st (4/21)

All of which clearly proves one thing: he can't hit with runners on base

Dubious choices here in the 9th, sticking with Kranick after the first hit and bringing Diaz in with two already on. I'd have given some other Mo a fresh 9th instead but what do I know I'm just a caveman your world frightens and confuses me

Edwin Diaz, 15 yards for unnecessary excitement.

Prior to that, I was checking out of town scores on mlb.com and saw 5-4 Mets (while it was 5-1 on my TV set) about 5 seconds before Stott's HR

Kind of took the whole mystery about where the next pitch was headed.

I have no way of proving this but I remain convinced that the worst thing you can do with the tying run on deck (other than make an out) is to hit a HR.

I also am convinced of that fact, even if I know from an abstract statistical point of view that it's always better to bank runs.

I'm also convinced, with even less evidence, that it is always the Mets who do that (World Series Game 2 a classic example) and never the opponent. Tonight might be the first time ever.

I've been looking for Megill to be an old fashioned horse on the mound and in the rotation for some time now

He's at least halfway to becoming a real revelation in that respect imho

You need almost all of your players to step up in a championship season and the Mets have most of them firing on all cylinders
