ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 David Peterson has done a decent job of working himself back to healthy and effectiveFansided, lightly identified with SI put out a trade rumorYankees get Alonso & DiekmanMets get SP Chase Hampton 1B Ben Rice and RP Ron MarinacciaBeyond that I hope that Christian Scott gets a regular series of turns soon. Might have to wait for some trades to happen to find roomChristian Scott has given me no reason to believe that he doesn't belong in the rotation nowLGM
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Anything from Fansided probably isn't a "rumor"; it's more like uninformed speculation from somebody who met the low bar that qualified him or her to write for Fansided.

I stopped reading their web pieces a while ago but once in a while I peek in because I can't resist. And then I'm reminded why I quit them in the first place. SI's trade deadline takes are all the same bullshit. There's a headline about some big blockbuster rumored trade involving Pete Alonso. Only it turns out that the writer himself, who's probably some teenager who doesn't have the writing chops to write for his High School newspaper is the one that started the rumor.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Me too, exactly. I know how bogus SI has become, but I do peek every once in a while and always regret it.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Nimmo sits. McNeil in the Nido slot.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Really, really good to see Pete back in the cleaning-up hole.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 A Bader Bomb!Bader has impressed me more than just about anyone else on this team this year.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 At least a semi-big hit by JDM.Not that I wasn't grateful for the two runs the Marlins handed us to start this inning. But once you've got those in your pocket and there'sstill no one out you'd hate for the inning to end with nothing else. Those lack of tack-on runs have helped duel our problems this yearincluding the late inning issues where small leads c/Should have been bigger.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Suddenly a one-run game as Peterson is struggling to get the last out of the fifth.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Mets can't just win and make it a solid win. They always have to make it difficult.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Baseball is hard.Marte and Bader tonight knocking the ball well past the original dimensions of Citi Field.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Nunez K's more in his first two batters (2) than Peterson did in five innings (1).
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Hey Hey My MyDedneil Nunez is the guy
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Let's put up a crooked number on this Foie Gras guy.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Bader's shoulder shimmy is dorky.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 That inning was a pleasure to watch Dedniel pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Seems like the Mets have hit several sinking liners to the rightfielder.
