My main memory is a doubleheader sweep early in 2021 on the backs of him and Marcus Stroman. It was a sweep of these very same Phillies, I believe, and helped the Mets jump out to their early lead in the division. Good times.



I may be remembering selectively, but I think he did a lot of his damage against intradivisional opponents.

Taijuan showing up at the team shop with his Taijuan Walker-sized Amex card and picking up the bill for fans on pride merch. There's are lot of ways to support pride or stay all the way clear if that's who you are, but hanging out at the shop, posing for selfies with a giant smile in every pic and saying “put it on my tab” is hella cool. Good tidings to you, Taijuan Walker.



Also I loved #99. I had his blue jersey in my virtual cart for half the season and now I can get it on clearance. #genius

Very likable guy, I'll miss him, seems a lot though, but good for him.

Him nodding and smiling when he found out that Diaz was going to pitch a second inning and close out a big game at some point this past season. Good little moment there.

Unexpected All-Star who sputtered after the game for the rest of the season. But liked when he pitched last year! Good for him for getting a big contract.

Another pitcher who got more than I would have paid him. He's only been worth his current salary twice in ten seasons, and neither time by all that much. But he was a likeable guy and easy to root for.
