Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 I love that all these games are on the same day. The single Wild Card game with one game per night kind of drove me crazy.Quintina vs. Wheeler is the match up in Game 1 of a series between two teams I suspect most of us want both of them to lose.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Lol, blessed with Michael Kay doing the play by play in St. Louis...

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Scoreless entering the 7th. If someone can push across a run soon, this could be another short game.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Looks like the Cardinals went ahead when I wasn't paying attention.
vtmet7 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 looks like the Cards finally broke the ice with a 2 run PH jack by a guy that I never heard of before
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Rookie Juan Yepez, to be specific.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Phillie have the heart of their order up in the top of the 9th.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 The "Best Fans in Baseball" (just ask them) must be happy.Later
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Bases loaded for Bohm.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Bohm beaned for an RBI!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Segura singles in two runs to take the lead for the Phillies.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Let's not be the Cards tonight.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Now 4-2, and the inning is still going. 2 on, 1 out.Later
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 The "Best Fans in Baseball" (just ask them) must be happy.LaterGotta say I have a lot of schadenfreude from the "Greatest Fans in Baseball" getting to see their bullpen implode in a postseason game. Phillies up 6-2 and still batting.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Wow. 6-2 Phillies. Cards fans traumatized.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Watching a bunch of the "Greatest Fans in Baseball" exiting en masse andnot sticking around for the bottom of the ninth was kinda amusing.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Author Posted October 7, 2022 Cards get a run back. Yadier Bleep Molina up as the tying run.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 I'm rooting for the comet to hit the stadium
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 And 6-3 Pfillies is your pfinal.Later
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2022 Author Posted October 8, 2022 The Phillies eliminate the Cardinals in 2 games in front of "The Greatest Fans in Baseball." Thus, the Mets & Padres will be playing the only 3-game Wild Card Series.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 Not exactly the storybook ending that Yadi, Wainwright, and Sir Albert were hoping for, eh?
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2022 Posted October 9, 2022 as much as i don't like the phillies, (and seem to be ok with pujols - but not yadi), i was happy to see the phils win last night. if only so the fellating of saint louis could come to an end. also, it meant i could turn off kay and arod. yeesh.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 Watching this game, I'm finding that I'm "rooting" for the Phillies to beat the Braves, when I thought it would be just a bunch of disgust towards both teams. Turns out I desire season death for the Braves much more than I knew.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 And if there's ever any doubt on who I hate more, the fucking chop is the tie-breaker.edit: Indigenous Peoples day is erryday
