Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Carlos "Cookie" Carrasco vs Michael Lorenzen. A late one, kids, 10:07 first pitch, so get that nap in today.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 In Lorenzen, the Angels probably have the 2nd best hitting pitcher in baseball too-- not that it will matter. But he used to hit a lot of bombs as a Cincinnati relief pitcher

whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Dad and I use to stay up for these
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Gotta say, I'm a big fan of the angels' city connect unis.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 What's good about watching this game, I was just thinking, is getting to see Mike Trout live and in real time. Outside of Mets games, if I saw more than 10 Trout at bats in real time in my whole life, it'd be a fucking miracle. And the announcers are noting the same thing as I write this.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 When does this Marsh guy have to get back to his day job as a roadie for the Tedeschi-Trucks band?
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 That dude presents a hell of an argument against the beards and long hair movement going about baseball these days.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Yeah, there's a difference between 'I'm wearing it fashionably long' vs 'All the guys at the fillin' station where I work wear it this way'.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Gil Hodges woulda shaved these dudes personally. And warshed their mouths out with Clorox just to be safe.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 The City Connect Angels didn't connect on that double-play attempt.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Big break with an error on an easy dp and its 1st and 3rd, nobody out. Nido whiffs but here comes Zimmo.3-0 bad guys in the 5th
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 1st and 3rd with none out and the Mets score none? This is not a recipe for success.

Hardly ever see themYeah, and when I wrote "more than 10 Trout at bats in real time in my whole life", I was probably exaggerating by a factor of two. I bet I haven't seen more than five live Trout AB's outside of Mets games.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Carrasco seems to have seen enough of Trout and Ohtani
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 So, this whole "two best players in the league" thing wasn't bullshit after all.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 The problem is that we've written the rules so as to suppress the opportunity for any later Ruths to emerge. And now we've further re-written them so as to keep any Ohtanis from emerging either.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 didnt say i liked the rules! F the DH
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 and that'll do it folks. we pitched to the 2 guys you shouldn't pitch to tonight.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Hey wait we just started another comeback
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Lorenzen exits, pitched a helluva game...
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Didn't stay up for this one and glad I didn't.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Author Posted June 12, 2022 Yeah I got drunk and fell asleep. At 10 PM.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Looks like we all slept through a 2 out 9th inning three-run Homer from Khalil Lee
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Lee also made an ill-advised dive for a ball with several runners on. He whiffed on it as the ball rolled to the wall which both cleared the bases and handed 1B Jared Walsh a cycle completing triple.
