G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Mets go with Trevor Williams for the series split. Julio Urias will start for L.A., at least until Dave Roberts can sneak Ron Cey onto the mound. 4:10 EDT on SNY.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Luis Castillo goes against the Nats today. For fun, let's test my "We'd do better on this road trip if Williams was a long believer and Castillo was our starter" theory

They're not specifically ruling out the Mets, but the Mets aren't included in their lists of likely suitors for Castillo.

Some Guy on the Internet says Mauricio + Allen for Castillo + Shit Prospect is a fair deal, but also doesn't contemplate the Salary Eating Discount

But maybe the Reds aren't mainly looking for salary dumps. They're still relatively cash strapped. They want prospects. Cheap baseball labor.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Mets have to take advantage here. Dude on the mound looks lost. I think it's the uni number. What kind of a pitcher wears #7?

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Nimmo's defense has gotten so much better.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Escobar just threw Justin Turner out from Chinatown.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Another strong performance by our #8 (as per spring training, depth-wise) starter today. Hopefully the Mets can get past Urias to the soft underbelly.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Big at-bat here for Trea Toiner, first and third and two outs.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Maybe we should trade Ronny Mauricio for Trevor Williams
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 The takeaway in this series so far is that the Mets need more hitting.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 WOW! Gets Turner to chase despite the Dodgers being the least chasiest of teams. And yeah, Trevor Williams is for real.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Urias pulled. Good chance here to jump in and turn this game around, get Williams a win.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 shmugly swing for strike there, Escobar.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Schimmo took some trauma on the hand there.I know that guys with hurting hands can still run, but then there's sliding.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 I was always under the impression that being able to hit a fastball was a minimum requirement for playing major league baseball.
