Has Guillorme nailed down the everyday 2B job? Is McNeil now his backup and their regular LFer?

I think what we're generally seeing is Guillorme platooning with Canha, with McNeil swinging between the two positions.

But McNeil is probably getting extra rest as he recovers from some bumps and bruises. Double-digit division leads can allow you to do that.

That's a more comprehensive way of looking at what I was trying to express, though Buck seems to find other places, CF, 1B, to stick Canha in the lineup.

Despite a pair of two-out baserunners, the Mets put up what is suddenly a very rare first-inning goose egg.

The fans at Citi Field sound very youthful today. School outings I expect.

We're gonna need our closer today, it looks like.

Don't like to pull starters after five, but that's where we are.

The good news is that Slugo is getting a second inning. More runs, please.

Just trying to shake out the bushes and see who was around.

Otto trying to pitch his way out of the hole he's dug, and gets two strikeouts. Nats have LOBbed a lot of dudes.

Sneaking an occasional peek while working.

Just once, I'd like to hear a play-by-play person discuss warming up pitchers and not using them, without wink-wink saying, "There's a term for it, but I won't use it on the air."

I'm not complaining but how do you only get to 2B on a ball that goes to the wall?

Great day for Nido and a pleasant surprise.
