The Twins get out from some money, but I don't see how this helps them. I do see how this helps the Yankees though.

Noah Syndergaard, Marcus Stroman, Rich Hill, Aaron Loup, Jeurys Familia, Brad Hand, Javier Baez, Jose Peraza.

Might have missed someone but these are all Met free-agents with none re-signing with the team and I can't think of any that have re-signed. Michael Conforto, Jonathan Villar, Kevin Pillar still out there but this feels like an unusual occurence.

An offseason leadership transition and the extended lockout are certainly part of that, but you're not wrong.

Highest profile re-signing has been bring Stephen Nogosek back on a minor league deal.

Matt Olsen to the... Braves?

Think the Braves might be moving on from Freddie F.?

Yesterday (or was it Sunday?) they trade for Matt Olson ... and today they inked him To an Eight-Year Deal!!

Yeah, I assumed FF's return was the biggest no-brainer of the off-season. He was extremely popular there (Duh!) both with fans and teammates, plus the whole

coming off the WS thing and the MVP the year before, yadda, yadda.

OTOH ... as unsentimental as it is, the Braves have a history of Not retaining players rather than risk getting hit with significant decline in the back-end of contracts.

Andruw Jones was allowed to walk at age 30, Raffy Furcal was (supposedly) 27, plus McCann, Francouer, Klesko, etc. They got the cheaper years out of those guys

before opting out of the expensive ones and have shown themselves to be right on those calls a lot more often than they've been wrong.

Freeman is 32-1/2. Olson turns 28 next week.

They paid a pretty steep price to have somebody not named Freddie Freeman be their first baseman.

Reds cough up Winkler and Suarez to Mariners. Getting back Justin Dunn, along with Brandon Williamson and Jake Fraley whoever tf they are

Justin Dunn, for what it's worth, led all players involved in the Diaz deal in WAR last year. Winkler is a great add for the Mariners though, even if Suarez is a salary dump.

I am friends with a Reds fan who is very unhappy right now, and I can't blame him.

The Braves also inked Collin McHugh for two years. I was hoping the Mets went after him. But it's fine if we still get Ryan Tepera.

Andrew Chafin, LHRP, to Detroit. This is noteworthy as the Mets need a LHRP and Chafin was considered to be the best one out there. I'm guessing that he will be more than the LOOGY in DET which might be why he is going there instead of Flushing, or he has some Michigan connection, but he won't be a Met.

It'll take a lot of maneuvering to remake their roster around him.

He smells like he's going to the Nats to me, sliding in at first base with Josh Bell moving to DH.

Yeah, I think Kris Bryant would be a better fit, because he wouldn't push Pete to DH and Cano to wherever Cano would go.

But I get the impression that the Mets aren't in on either of those guys. I hope I'm wrong.

Did he have an extramarital affair with a Hooters waitress and father a child with her? Cuz that might be frowned upon in Georgia.

Kris Bryant to the Rockies. What the heck are they doing there?
