Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2021 Author Posted August 3, 2021 Jeff King was mos' def' on my shortlist.Ángel Bravo, sadly, played for three teams, and none of them were the Angels or the Bravos. Being appropriately named is hard if your employers won't cooperate.[FIMG=250]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/wKIAAOSwNgZfeJFX/s-l500.jpg[/FIMG]
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 Amazingly, no one named Ray, or Raymond, has ever played for the Tampa Bay Rays. Toronto has had two Jays - though technically they are both Jaysons (Jayson Nix, Jayson Werth), and that only stupid people spell the name Jayson with a Y.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 The appropriately named St. Louis Cardinal Red Schoendienst? (I looked, they never had any player named Pope on that team).

I retract my earlier submission. Red Schoendienst can eat a bag of hot wet farts.
