Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Between the fielding errors (4), the inability to hit w/RiSP (0-7), plus the HBPs (1) & Wild Pitches (2) it's amazing the effect the YSIII crowd had on the game.Oh wait, you mean those were the stats from the home team?!? ... never mind! You KNOW that had those been Houston stats (they made one error) the "raucous crowd", along with assorted 'ghosts' would have been cited not just as A cause but as THE cause. But, instead, the home teams are 1-3 in this series and sub-.500 overall during these playoffs as a whole.btw, how those WPs (on Loaisiga) weren't charged as passed balls to Sanchez is a mystery.I guess they figure that, with Sanchez, balls that hit his glove on a fly aren't necessarily destined to be caught.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Stay classy Yankee fans.I wonder if they would make taunt an opposing player with cancer. I wouldn't put it past them.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I would assume the Yankees are going to whine about the ball if/when they lose this series, like employing lumberjacks in a tiny stadium isn't basically a juiced environment already.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 It would behoove the Astros to win it tonight, as Game 6 would likely be a bullpen game with Gerrit Cole going on full rest in a potential Game 7.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I had no idea that Houston only had three starters. I guess they left Wade Miley off the roster. Just now found out Lance McCullers had Tommy John. And Charlie Morton is no longer on the team. This is how little I pay attention to the American League. Does Nolan Ryan still pitch for them? How about Mike Hampton?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Brad Peacock started 15 games this season and is on the roster.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I had no idea that Houston only had three starters. I guess they left Wade Miley off the roster. Yeah, Miley was the next guy in line but a poor September -- if you can call: 5 starts with 11.1 combined innings while giving up 21 Runs on 28 Hits "poor" -- left him not only out of the rotationbut off the roster entirely.Peacock last started in late June with only some time off (injury I assume) and a handful of relief appearances since then.Their 'bullpen day', if they need one, will probably involve 24 y/o Mexican rookie Jose Urquidy who they're apparently high on and who made a couple of starts prior to the Greinke trade then was calledback up in September.Their plans for avoiding a bullpen game apparently involves hitting grounders to Yanqui infielders as a method for padding their run total. And if that's not enough they'll probably go back to just hitting drunks in the outfield grandstands with batted balls.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Anytime that the rookie Alvarez, or Gourriel at 1B, or even the supposed MVP Bregman for that matter, feel like maybe joining this series they'd be a welcome addition.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Well that was a bit of an odd game.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2019 Author Posted October 19, 2019 “Bullpen game” sounds like “spa day”.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Brad Peacock and Chad Green are to be the starting mound opponents in this [CROSSOUT]spa day[/CROSSOUT] bullpen game.Either that or they're the remaining suspects in some baseball-themed version of CLUE, I haven't figure out which.Brad Peacock ... on the mound ... with the baseball is to start tonight's affair at precisely 8:08 EDT
