Does anyone here think that they'd have him pitch every 5 days and be a full time position player in between? I don't see it happening these days, aside from that scenario where he is a DH. But I like the idea. I just read up a bit on The Babe to see how long he pitched before he switched to RF. He did pitch a handful of games for New York but the change pretty much became full-time after he came over from the BoSox. Maybe this might be a mold for players of the future (we've already seen this with Ankiel, although out of necessity). Pitch for 5 or 6 years, put a cap on that, and then take the field as a player for the remainder of one's career. Sounds silly but think about it. It could work and it could benefit the game.

Maybe he can solve the logo problem. Work of graphic logo designer Todd Radom. He's not like me. He's a real logo designer. And this is brilliant: [fimg=400]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cw_lW4fXUAAY1lG.jpg[/fimg]

Awesome stuff Batmags! Is this an effect on Bart? I like that look. [fimg=400:zn7f2vit]https://c7.staticflickr.com/6/5550/30806112622_743489a518_k.jpg[/fimg:zn7f2vit]

If he wasn't willing to be a safety net from the get-go in 2017 I'm actually glad that he will continue to start somewhere. Colon broke down years ago, when he went from 98mph heat to 81mph finesse. I think Bart can pitch like he does now for as long as he pitches. I really think we could have used him in a number of ways, primarily such a simple thing: his presence. And there's his experience and his example. Our young guns may have learned how to hurl heat coming up, but if they payed any attention at all to Bartolo Colon, they learned how to pitch (I hope). We may not need him now but he was so needed during his time here. I also like the 12 mill now available, so.... I'm over it.

Well, this shocked the shit outta me. I felt that if he did stay he would have to be in the rotation at seasons start as other options shake out or work themselves in. If Sandy couldn't promise him that maybe we are in better shape than I thought going into 2017. I wish him all the best and would like to see him pass Marichal. He needs 10 wins to reach 233. Damn, I really hoped to see him do that as a Met.

Is he one of the players who's wife had a child during the season?

The fact that he grew up just like us, loving the Mets & going to games, endears him to me. The fact that he's also a fantastic play by play guy put's him over the top. We have always been fortunate when it comes to broadcasters, but never as fortunate as when Gary was given the lead spot in the booth. For him to surpass the feelings I had for Bob Murphy is quite an accomplishment, because I thought the world of Murph. I would say "good luck" but I don't think he needs it. He's the best. I voted earlier today but it's possible I did not click on "submit vote". I only say that because the option is still there. Does that mean I didn't click it? If I did and I click it now will I be voting twice? Will it allow that? I only made 2 choices, could that be an issue?

That's an excellent post CF.

For me Piazza into the Hall trumps anything Cespedes, and to have Mike and The Franchise together is as good as it gets.

Meh, you guys know whenever the Mets aren't in it I go for a 7 game series. And when have I ever gone with an A.L. team? Next years prediction: [u:g701ulw1]N.L. team[/u:g701ulw1] in 7 games.
