The tags are fed into google search and WALA! Your photo (or card, whatever) shows up. On the card blog there's a section to add tags. I always add Zvon as the last tag. Now when I type "Mets Zvon" into google (image) search I get a wall of my stuff. For any specific card I'll tag mfc, players name, team, etc. and in no time at all it's a search result. That might be the most helpful thing about a blog run by Blogger/google.

Maybe you guyz & girls can help me out. What should go down as Thor's career highlights so far? Also, where can I find out his contract status? I don't see it at the MLBmets site.

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I'm quite satisfied at this point. There's definitely more to come, but I think the Mets have a good team and I expect that they'll contend in 2017. Yeah. Things need to go right, I wish they had a little more O we could count on, but I agree they have the raw material to contend. I tellya the thing that worries me is Walker. I don't believe he's going to hit like a $17 million guy You mean a 20+ HR guy, cuz who give's a shit about the $$ save our owners. I have to commend the Wilpon's as well, because I'm sure I said nasty things when they weren't spending what I though was appropriate. And re: "Things need to go right", even the best teams need the breaks to go their way. How would we be remembering the '86 Mets if that ball never trickled through Buckner's legs? I can see as usual I'm being over optimistic. But I do feel that comfortable with this team.

Centerfield wrote: Still, maybe Duda, d'Arnaud and Conforto bounce back. Tough to say. But I'm asking you to say it anyway! I think we are neck and neck with the Nats on paper (translation, injury free, everyone firing on all pistons). I can get behind rooting for those guys to play up to their potential if there are no more moves to up the offense. Throw Lags in if he is still here. I can't see the outfield as it now stands, something will have to be done there. If we keep Bruce I will have to root for him to be "The Good Bruce". But one thing I don't want to go through is the Flushing of Jason Bay II. So if we stick with him and he still sucks I'll be bitchin bout it as I root. I think we have 99.9% of the ingredients needed to get back to the big show. All off season I've been hoping for one thing. An additional bullpen arm that can be counted on. And the thing about that is if someone steps up we could possibly find that in-house. Sometimes the moves not made are the best moves.

Wilson Ramos to the AL. Niiiiiiice. He was a pain. I recall many times wishing we had a catcher like him. Dunno if he's past his prime. Ended '16 with a bad injury (ACL torn). Glad if he's going anywhere that's not us, it's out of the N.L. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mlb-hot-stove-signings-rays-wilson-ramos-reportedly-agree-on-two-year-deal/ Centerfield wrote: It's looking like Sale to the Nats. And they hold on to Tera Turner. Hard to imagine these Nats are going to get even better. Fuck. Of course they'd hold on to Turner. But no Sale. Gio would make a perfect Yankee. He's seems like such a doosh. Who's the Nats catcher in '17?

It tickles my fancy that Landslide was vs. the Phils.

I used to be very high on Robles. And he does have some great stuff. I just think we are going to have to dangle some parts we'd rather keep and looking down the list I stop at Robles first. Because he is still on the up side and appealing to other teams but here he seems to be running in place. Robles might be tested as the 7th or 8th inning guy going into the season, and I'd much rather have Brach in one of those spots. I'll climb aboard LWFS train. Bruce 4 Brach or suck my ____!

I'm talking about Chris Sale, and not in a good way

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Yeah that's crazy talk. I think Bruce is more than enough hisself Then go for it. Right before I posted those names I read that Bruce or Grandy would not be enough. I would rather not give up any arms but I'll unload Robles as part of that. Take Plaw off the table. I agree that's overkill. I've pretty much given up on Robles in NY. Much rather have Reed take Familia's spot to open. And would love to have a Reed type of guy for the 8th (& then 7th when everyone's back). I'm not saying we cant find that bridge guy from within (I actually think we can), but no way is that man Robles, IMO.

The Orioles have been linked to Mets outfielders Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson (they’re said to prefer the latter), but neither of those outfielders would be enough to get the O’s to part with Brach. WTF kinda world are we living in Stupid MLBTR. Bruce, Robles, Plawecki

Centerfield wrote: Can you imagine if Brad Brach came down with Spinal Stenosis? lol. I guess everyone's thinking Brad Brock. Think Brad Brak. OE:This guy could be perfect. I don't want to move Granderson of Conforto. That leaves Bruce and Lags (or TEBOW? what position does he play?).

Mex17 wrote: Also: It's Flores. I was thinking about the "next man up" after Flores. What if Flores (or Duda) gets hurt earlier in the season and they feel that they don't want to call up Smith yet because he does not yet have enough ABs in AAA? Chris Carter is enticing but Duda goes if we get him. It's contingent. Possibly Flores too, but he's a weird case. He's more valuable to the Mets than he'd ever be to any other team. He can also play all infield spots. He and T.J. should be able to shore up the infield (Duda or Carter @1st). And once again my man Matt Reynolds is nowhere to be found (he is on the 40 man). If Smith gets called up in an emergency, without buildup, and can't perform up here, he never will. Gut feeling.

I tuned in late. No idea what it was about. They were just talking about stuff. It was very enjoyable and both Jacob and Darling were pretty funny, but I have no idea what the reason for the conference was. OE: It was a really nice interview, basically. Catch it if you can because it was funny and informative.

Yea, watching this on fb. Is this tomorrows press conference moved up?

It looks like we're talking about Andrew McCutchen

Two seasons and it's less painful to include Matz. Of course this is said with the hope that McCutchen returns to his old form for a few years. There is only one Buckethead. -

Benjamin Grimm wrote: Five years of control for Matz vs. one year of control for McCutchen. You have to figure that into the calculation. I agree that it's an all-out for 2017 (and risky) move. Also, I am not all-up on McCutchen's more recent seasons. I read that last year he needed a jump start about half way though. I think he still has plenty left in his tank and the change of scenery would be an overall jump start for him. Also keeps him away from the Nats (now in negotiations with Pittsburgh, I read earlier today). Of course, if we could get it done for less, I'd approve. I consider Matz one of the core 5 arm wise. He's also a lefty. Moving him would be painful. I don't consider Gsellman one of the 5. But I feel confident he can fill the opening. But Matz being the only lefty...that might derail my thinking. -

Which is to say I unscrunched the logo and added a border, dropping the "slant" look. As of now, the 2017 mfc card design (subject to change). Sounds like the Nats are already moving on some McCutch deal but we can beat those bastards with the inclusion of TEBOW. Matz/Lagares That would do it, I bet. I still believe in Matz, though. Do we all want him gone now?? I really would rather not. But we don't get McCutchen w/o giving up something we covet, IMO, one of our starters. And as I said on the other thread it;s not that I'm down on Matz, I'm not, I'm just up on Gsellman. He came up in a pressure packed situation and he showed he can pitch here in NY. -

I say Bruce should go, Grandy should stay. But if we bring McCutchen on board, that changes everything. The ripple effect could end up changing the teams long term plans but as long as Conforto is here at the end of the day I'll be okay with whatever (he can back all three OF positions). I'm a Lagares fan but he would be the weakest link and there's gotta be a team out there looking for a good glove in center. -

The whole theme of this thread reminds me of the line from FIDDLER ON THE ROOF where the man asks the local Rabbi if there's a prayer for the Czar. The Rabbi responds with: May God bless and keep the Czar ... far away from us Ha. Thanks for the nice comment. And it's funny, that one took no more than ten minutes to make. Just slapped Jeffs face up there and re-created the smoke effect. This one took hours, days even. This is my favorite from that old JWiHistory thread (favorite that I created-I think some others that were posted were higher on my list). AND, maybe Jeff does linger, because he may have gotten this message. I don't recall seeing the orange billed caps last season. If they wore them the odds are I posted this somewhere on those days (& IIRC I posted it once during 2016).

He said his priority from the start was returning to the Mets. This really pumps me up.
