WOW! "God willing, I want to finish out my career with this team." !!!! Sandy:"God willing and a no trade clause." hahaha

Ces in a suit is a stunning sight. He partially disrobes to don his Mets jersey which looks very comfortable set upon the earthy tones of his shirt and tie.

Press conference fashion report: Fred Wilpon is sporting an elegant brown sleeveless wool-like sweater, corduroy pants and dockers. Jeff wears his business like suit with a Mets orange creamcicle tie. Sandy Alderson looks quaint, throwing a jacket over his pajama top.

And he's sweet pie. To each their own. I think Votto in NY, at this point in his career, is not worth any of our pitchers (for position players I'd be more enthused). It's what I call an opinion. Personally I don't think he has the makeup to play in The Big Apple. Edgy MD wrote: Want to know why Bruce was on his way to an RBI title until he came to the Mets, at which time he proceeded on his way to Stoogeville? Joey Votto, that's why. Do please explain that one. All Bruce had to do was continue producing. He is also a player I fear cannot handle playing in NYC. I will happily eat my words if he is still here in 2017 and puts up Jay Bruce type numbers for a whole season in NY.

I like Gsellman alot. Lugo too, but I think I'd dangle him out there first. I have no interest in Votto playing in NYm (unless we get him for nothing). I like what we have brewing so far. This GM would try and hold on to the arms as long as possible. Id be thinking "catcher" and if we move in that direction Trav or Plaw can be part of the deal.

Centerfield wrote: Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'd put Conforto in that lineup instead of Bruce. I figure he's almost certain to be traded now. I was thinking about that. I'd start Conforto too, but right now Bruce is in the organization, and if he's still here in April, you figure he'd start ($$$) over Conforto. Agreed that he will almost certainly be traded. Also agree. I want Conforto in there. I consider Duda a question mark until I see him play in spring. So I wouldn't be all that quick to deal Bruce. That can wait for now. Jay has only 3 games at first base in his career though. I guess we always have Flores for first. Yea, trade Bruce, see if we can get a catcher who's up to snuff. Or more pen help.

Centerfield wrote: Does this mean we don't get Stanton? lol I can't help but think that the Tabloid Cover Derby had something to do with this. The deadline for covers to be considered is December 4. I bet they noticed that the covers from Cespedes' return in January didn't make it out of the first round (because of competition from Mike Piazza). lol Bravo, Sandy! Agreed. I wasn't expecting a deal without going 5 years. Ditto. This is fantastic news Centerfield wrote: Has a Met ever been signed twice in the same calendar year? Kinda crazy. I know! LGM in 17!!

Kelly Ripper is pretty good but I went for all three Gsellman covers. I prefer the good times when given a choice. Those middle ones were bad times.

I figured the Mets have already gone to five years but I can't truthfully say. I get 95% of my Mets news here. They gotta go at least 5. The Turkeyday Metropolitan talks ended on a bad note as $$ and 7 yrs whisks Yo to Washington. And of course, ever the optimistic fool, I said I don't think it's all about the $$ w/Cespedes, and we'll see. But one thing we can't let happen (if we don't have a Stanton up our sleeve) is Yo to the Nats. That would be a devastating kick in the nutz. So bring him home Sandy!

Centerfield wrote: Haven't you heard? We are getting Giancarlo Stanton. Who started that rumor?! When I read that the first and almost only thing I thought was that he would more than pacify me if we couldn't get Cespedes. And I can't say I feel that way about players like Bautista and Encarnacion. I also think that getting Stanton is more of a far out fantasy than getting Cespedes back again. But that's what I do. That's what we all do. Fantasize about the Mets, lol. This is not a commercial for my blogthing.

I think OLD SCHOOL is the koolest cover I've seen so far. I want to proclaim it the winner but it might not even take this round. Everything about it, pic, colors, balance, headline, font, are awesome. AMAZING GRACE to cover Piazza and the LOT ON THE LINE cause silly photoshops are my cupOtea. That one took some extra brain work. Lil' bit.

Done. Bags, Hoffman, Raines, Shilling, Lee Smith. Raines getting aLotta luv.

I'd be okay with Stanton. Yo, you wanna flirt with the Yanks? We can play that game. According to Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe, one of the biggest—literally—sluggers on the market could be available. In a column listing players with big contracts that could be traded this winter, Miami Marlins star Giancarlo Stanton was named. One of his possible destinations should the Marlins actually explore his market: The Mets. Where will Yoenis Cespedes sign in free agency? The Marlins don't want to break up their offense, but with the death of Jose Fernandez, Stanton's name does pop up more often. http://www.nj.com/mets/index.ssf/2016/11/mlb_trade_rumors_marlins_giancarlo_stanton_to_mets.html
