  1. Thor looks NASTY out of the gate. Ohhh, that slider. *dribble
  2. That was an excellent game ( Cubs/Cards). So, the Cubs have Kyle Schwarber leading off? Am I missing something here? This surprised me. I never thought of him as lead off material, still don't. He did get a single & a double (& was hit by a pitch), the single leading off the game, so what do I know?
  3. 94-68. They Go All The Way!

  6. Wishing all the best to Mr. Kranepool. Those numbers against lefties are beyond pathetic, and I take zero stock in Spring Training. I'm hoping the wrist problems he dealt with last year were a lot of the problem, but that's besides the point of what Flores needs to do to get more playing time. Well he went 0-3 last game, all Ks. Only one vs. a lefty, but all 3 Ks took only 9 pitches. Didn't see a ball. Interesting after his hot start. Not worried yet. Maybe he was told to look at more pitches or something silly like that. I say leave this kid alone and let him rake.
  8. Edgy MD wrote: It depends on whether and why you think moving Cabrera at third and Reyes at short is the better alignment. The Mets general attitude is not to defer to incumbent starters and avoid moving them at all costs. I agree and like 99.9% I share the same sentiment. My reasoning is not sound, especially after what Cabs gave us last year. I just would love to see Reyes manning SS again I think it might be the best set-up for the left side. I suppose the other way around does not make much of a difference. I just love Reyes at short so my thinking in biased. The great thing is that I loved Cabby at short too, so I'll be happy in any case. I want Reyes to play a lot. I think he's going to make some major contributions.
  9. He gets the eleven, all pinch hitting and DH'ing. I wish.
  10. Very sad news about The Captain. No talk of Cabrera playing some third? He's only played the position once in his entire career but he's a big guy with quick hands and I don't see any problem there if he would be okay the move. Reyes can take short for most of the time and then we have Cecchini, Flores, Reynolds, & Rivera to plug in the rest gaps. And is Rosario slated to start the season with the big club? We'll probably end up with Reyes at 3rd mostly, and I'm totally okay with that as well.

  12. They had Bruce taking grounders at first today. He said he's ready to play 1st if he has to but he'd rather see Duda return to good health, which was nice to say. I like what I saw in Smith today. I think if Duda is all washed up already Smith will step in and step up. I'd rather see Duda have a career year tho, as I say every season.
  13. Just watching Dom Smith's footwork around first today, if he hits I'm gonna like him. He looked very solid in the field.

Actually I think Keith has developed an excellent self-filter while still retaining his bluntness. Nido drives him home with a chopping single. I don't know any of these names. 5-2 Mets
  15. Well, lets not be putting Reynolds in left. 4-2 Mets
  16. Mets plate another run spring training style & as Detroit's middle infielders bump heads & Reynolds goes home. 4-0 Mets 8th.
  17. Wowzers, against the wind.

  19. And d'Arnaud slaps one nicely up the middle to plate Conforto. 2-0 Mets.
  20. Conforto has 4 hits and 6 at bats so far this spring (including a kaBOOM) and he made this splendid catch today.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: Mets up 1-0 as Reyes beats out a potential 6-4-3. Laggy has clobbered the ball twice but Machado has somehow snagged it both times. Reyes also flashed some awesome leather and displayed an arm that still can really bring it on a play deep in the hole. On the Reyes non-DP: Gary describes the bad bounce as "a kangaroo hop". Damn, I missed listening to these guyz.

Maybe they should start to get undressed while the pitcher is tossing the 4 balls. This rule change is simply ridiculous. And I'm with Kong. If they bring the DH in, I'm out.
