There are so many things wrong with the Sultan Of Swaat cover, yet I still went with it. The Royal game was really important but it gets kinds stuffed under the rug. I mean Thor, 8 innings, 2 kaBOOMs, in Hollywood.

I doubt you get that wish Batmags but here's something, a small consolation wish, a pic that, as far as I can recall (which usually isn't much), I've yet to share. I hope this isn't a photo you shared already that I saved eons ago. I created a folder for all mintwall pics recently and while sorting I came across this one the other day. I remembered all the other ones I'm finding (like with Cleon, Goosen, and Rocky) but not this one. Hope it's new to you too. Happy Anniversary to the mintwhitetoothpasty colored walls!

So if you're banning, I'm with JCL. I agree it shouldn't be conducted in this section but people are people and they will do what they do. It's not a crime that such a discussion took place in the baseball section. I ran a message board a few times. You cannot control people, only contain them. So move on, nothing to see here. Except maybe those minty white walls if Batmags gets his wish. It will be 50 years. Oh my gosh. They gotta do something super special!

It do. I can't even recall what I was crediting you for. I imagine you sent me the photo I worked with, which was a nice quality image. If so, I thank you again That catchers glove would make a nice bean bag type seat if you flip it over.

Later Guys that take other guys helmets off after home runs don't grow on trees. Lol. I tend to agree with Ceet. He has the intangibles that New York short stops have become known for. Yep, I went there. I say just let the shortstop situation play itself out if Cabby is still with us come spring. If he's not it better be for a piece that REALLY matters.

Was the Piazza logo only worn on one date? I think that Piazza patch was a one-gamer. That's a strange picture. It looks like Ruggiano's bat is no more than a foot long and that he's choking up all the way near the fat end of the bat. Looks like he's swinging a beer bottle. Permission granted. It would be an honor! Thank you. An honor! lol. Don't hear that word much anymore. No my good Metfairy lady, the honor is mine. *cue dramatic sweeping bow

themetfairy wrote: Short tenure/nice smile - Great pic. Permission to use if I ever get around to making a Ruggiano card. I do seem to recall he made this unbelievable play out in right/center in what might have been his first game as a Met. If not, close to it. I went looking for a pic because I was sure I saved one when I first came across it after the game, but all I could find is this shot, which makes me think that it may have only been a valiant effort. I know I have another of him mid flight and a .gif somewhere in my Mets library. If I come across them I'll add 'em here. I did take notice of his determination. The guy practically flew into that wall while diving upward after he caught the ball if this is a pic of the "catch" that I'm thinking of. If he made it I would have had to add the catch to my top 10 all time catches by and outfielder. batmagadanleadoff wrote: [fimg=444]https://c5.staticflickr.com/6/5613/31007552644_f6a257691b_b.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=444]https://c3.staticflickr.com/6/5605/31007552674_55ebdd5976_b.jpg[/fimg] Also great pic on the Mets card Batmags. Showing Murph K'n is sweet but it only reminds me of how he pwnd us in '16 and what a great season he had. Him being there totally cancels out underwear girl for me, and that's no easy task. Hair for the win!

His only one?! Nimmo gets the love.

Great. I'll wait for their investigative report and then back their findings if it is warranted.

Benjamin Grimm wrote: Well, the problem with that is that when charges are dropped, as they were with Jose Reyes, how can we know that the wife wasn't intimidated into dropping those charges? How do we know the wife wasn't exaggerating the situation because she's a devious person. I'm not saying Familia's wife is such a case but the thing is there are people like that out there. As things stand on the record, we just don't know. If baseball does it's own investigation and publishes it's findings I'll back whatever they decide. But not if what they decide is based solely on accusations. That's just wrong.

Fman99 wrote: Beatles reference and a sweet follow through swing. No brainer. My first thought as well but then there's that rookie HR smile beaming from Nimmo's front grill. Kinda a tie in my mind atm. Was that Nimmo's 1st MLB HR? I'll have to find out. That might tip the scales.

Baseball should not be considered the judge in these situations. The charges were dropped. Case closed. No charges. No suspension. They can't be suspending players simply because they were accused of something. I'm not saying what Familia did, whatever it was, wasn't bad. More than likely it was. But you can't be going by accusations. We have an idea what happened but we don't really know, yet most people have already branded him guilty. Baseball should take a step back and not address such accusations except to say that MLB abhors domestic violence and we reserve judgement and withhold punishment until the case is brought to trial and a determination has been made. I think domestic violence is really bad and don't condone it in any way, but even players should be afforded due process when accused of such serious offenses.

No shit. I shouldn't be surprised but I figured they'd dance around this for decades. I guess when you think about it, they already have.

One of my all time favorites. I made this a long time ago to post on the blog but got busy with actual Mets stuff that was happening and still have yet to run it.
