Ah, fuck that. Let him keep it. This is stupid.

I kinda love these new OKAY LET'S JUST EFFIN GO Mets. Rip off the bandaid. Make us love you, Stearns. LET'S EFFIN GO.

Morabito wearing 8 tonight! OOOH, scandal.
  4. seawolf17
Wow. Called up, but then traded by the forum before his plane even landed. Tough news, Nick. 🙃

So entire threads are gone? Yeah, that's something we'd have to fix. Paging @Brock Beauchamp so he sees this.

    It's the Coleman/McGee/Van Slyke Cardinals!

Huh. Now how are we going to find out about the two-years-ago deaths of 1970s Minnesota Vikings middle linebackers we'd never heard of?

My gut reaction says that feels about right. I remember Niese being better than he actually was, for what it's worth, but an ERA of just under 4 is better than a lot of guys we've had.

Austin Slater DFAed to make room.

The Angels last night! Scoreless going to the ninth, Angels being no-hit by the Insert Your City Here A's and our former farmhand JT Ginn. A's pick up one in the top of the ninth to take the lead, then in the bottom half: leadoff single walkoff homer Boom.

    This is fun!

Love how the umpires don't even know the rule. FFS.
  14. seawolf17
Keep in mind it's Kimbrel to "close" it, so let's tack a few more on just in case.

That was a really great AB from Baty.
  16. seawolf17
I guess this is the Vidal Brujan Game.
  17. seawolf17
Raley has been, far and away, our best reliever. I'm not sure what games you're watching.

I still have no idea why the Mets insist on this wild shuttle of pitchers up and down all the time. And maybe a lot of teams do it, I don't know. But it feels like overkill. What was the point of calling up Gerber, then? And they had to move Minter to the 60 in order to call him up, which means he (or whoever) just gets cut when Minter comes back next week anyway. This team. Oy.

sez the internet. Thornton has a 3.16 ERA across Bing (5 starts) and Cuse (2), with decent peripherals. Top prospect, lefty. No confirmation as to whether he's starting or "following" yet (Following is still stupid.)

Big week with Washington and Miami. Last week's 5-1 was nice, this week's 6-1 is *necessary.*
  21. seawolf17
If it was possible to lose 200 games in a season, this team would do it.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/horseracing/2026/05/14/jose-ortiz-irad-ortiz-jr-edwin-diaz-illegal-cockfighting/90046603007/ Between this and the injury, you'd almost think he *was* still a Met.

I tell you, I'm excited by Ewing. He looks a little old for a rookie, but he's fun to watch.
  24. seawolf17
    "No," and "that's why."
  25. seawolf17
Oof. At this point, just contract the team and try again in February.
